Hentai and Neogaf

So there I am, smoking my pipe with a nice glass of peaty single malt whiskey, with my fire blazing and my dog Baxter resting next to me.

Ah! Good times I thought! Why don't I persue Gaf before I start playing my next visual novel on the fine system that is the Switch?

But then a thought did cross my mind!

WAIT! I haven't had my daily browse of the high brow Neogaf! I then asked my Butler to bring me my tablet while I poured another fine glass of whiskey and looked upon the framed picture of my wife, Dorothy.

Once the tablet had been bought to me by Mr Jenkins the Third I did then decide to persue Neogaf.

'Oh what jolly threads shall be read today?' I thought. A sad chuckle escaped me as I remembered not seeing EviLore EviLore for many a year now.

But GASP! My excitement soon turned into horror as I came across many the same Hentai game ad throughout the threads!

'To what madness is this?!'

Shaken and shocked I sadly turned off the tablet to go horse riding and play Root Letter.

The end.

I don't know how GAF's ads work, but I'm REALLY hoping they're based on the user's personal browsing-history, like most ads are.
Not exactly.

1. The category can be blocked within Google Ad Manager.

2. If you have vacant ad slots and no one is buying them, the cheaper tier ones can come into play, in order for you to make some bucks. Unless well, you block the category itself.

I've reported those ads multiple ads to Google and keep getting them on my phone / PC.

you can deny looking at it but you saying you saw a hentai ad means you have searched for it. the whole point of advertisements is to show you stuff you might like based on things you search and sites you visit.

there's no way hentai is being shown as a generic ad.

Not true, I have all personalized ads turned off on my Google account, the hentai ads are what shows up. And I never have searched for cartoon porn.

This is not exactly true. I get a lot of Hentai ads here and nowhere else and I don't search for it, watch it, or even enjoy it. I don't watch anime either. The closest I've come to hentai is playing and looking online for game sites related to a lot of Nintendo RPGs this year like Xenoblade 1 2 3, Shin Megami Whatever V, Triangle Strategy, Godeater 3. Maybe those trigger it.

The ads here aren't explicit though, at least not that I've seen. No nudity, just women in suggestive poses for mobile games featuring big titty anime girls throwing their legs up over their head hoping to get pounded in a naughty place conveniently located out-of-shot, or anime girls saying suggestive things to each other while they blush knowingly. Maybe the ad service considers these sorts of games as the same genre as Nintendo jrpgs, and the ads are more game-habit related than related to my porn habits, all of which only involve live action shennanigans.

Oh you know, I did do some searches for classic E3 booth babes and cosplay models recently for a relevant discussion taking place here over in Gaming. Maybe that influenced my ads. I can't read the mind of the algorithm.

The ads wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't 3-5 in a row with like one thread between each and that they are all exactly the same. All I know is the ads have had a negative experience since they been redone. If I could afford gold I'd be happy but it but I'm broke and in the middle of getting disability (which has been a nightmare in it self).

I keep seeing these ads for “top toon” where a mom-like figure is saying something like “it’s ok we’re family” to a younger male, or some other innuendo.

I can safely say I've never searched for hentai... at work. Which is when I'm usually on here. I think it just thinks we are nerds and pervs. This is certainly true. Embrace it.

To follow up on this, these is an example of the types of game ads I was talking about, this one from a minute ago. I guess it doesn't count as hentai, just suggestive anime games in line with the aforementioned Nintendo jrpgs. Just cheeky sfw stuff:

Found and blocked the associated domain.
Dude, if you try to keep up with all of these, you'll never get any sleep. You've carefully nurtured a gamer/nerd site. I got a feeling the hentai/pr0n ads are going to keep streaming in.

Ah this is why i keep getting the add of some slut with her tits out smashing herself with the text flashing "meet singles in your area now".

This isn't a complaint, but EviLore EviLore seems to want information like this so I'm just providing info if needed.

Ads with panty shots and suggestive boobs are popping up, both lead to the same place when clicked.
