The success of Hogwarts Legacy can be attributed to its Harry Potter roots, which have garnered a lot of positive reception in Japan. There is even a TV segment dedicated to the game. It is currently topping the best-seller list on Amazon Japan, not just in the overall category, but also among the best-selling games for the PS5.

The game’s popularity in Japan has resulted in strong sales across the platforms it is available on, which include the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. On the best-seller list in Japan, the PS5 version of Hogwarts Legacy is at the top of the charts, with the deluxe edition also ranking among the top sellers on Amazon Japan.

In a testament to its popularity, retail store Yodobashi has run out of copies of the game, demonstrating the high demand for it in the Japanese market.

PS5 sales increase is something global and related to the increase of shipments, not to the release of this game. The increase already started before.

The Japanese are the types of people to run head first into where Platform 9¾ is situated and end up in the emergency room on their British holiday.

Harry Potter doesn't represent the UK like they think it does.

Hogwarts Legacy is performing well in Japan as the game has gained significant popularity in the region. This has led to a boost in PS5 hardware sales.
Then they go on to list last weeks sales which did not include Hogwarts...

Just wait until we get the switch demake, then it will literally fly off the shelves.
I'm honestly hoping they're delaying so it can get polished up for the Switch; a little effort like that which was put into Nier: Automata and Persona 5 (not to mention Dragon Quest XI) goes a loooong way with the Switch crowd.
