A new study has claimed to reveal the 10 most anticipated video game releases of 2023, with notable titles like Hogwarts Legacy and Starfield mentioned on the list. 2022 has been a strong year for video games, with landmark releases like Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok, but so far 2023 is shaping up to be even bigger. Probably the most useless metric.

Remember when Animal Crossing New Horizons only had around 1 million views vs TLOU2 with 16 million views, at the end ACNH sold 40 million units at full price while TLOU2 needed to lower its msrp to sell around 10 million units.

though I wonder if this will shut up the people claiming ARK 2 isn’t a big exclusive get for Xbox while saying FFXVI for PS5 is why Xbox should be allowed to buy Activision-Blizzard? 🤔

Even the most casual gamers I know are excited for it.

Even people who I didn't know even games, seem to know about the game.

Hell, myself and my younger and older brother are looking forward too it and non of us are Harry Potter fans.

There is a lot of genuine excitement for Hogwarts Legacy.

not surprised, the IP is massive and casual gamers will want to play it.

I would not be surprised if it sold 20 million copies once the last gen versions come out.

The titles were then ranked by global search volume to determine which new 2023 games people are looking forward to the most.

I never read Harry Potter or watched the movies because I was in my 20s when the books came out, so I was always too old to get into it. Because of this I also have zero interest in the game, but it should be fun for all the children that grew up with it.

Now I just need an Encyclopedia Brown or GoBots game on this scale.

It's also the game with the most revealed so far...once BOTW2, Spiderman and Starfield show more they should be on the forefront of peoples minds more. Every other day theres a hogwarts legacy breakdown.

People are underestimating Harry Pooter just like people underestimated Spiderman PS4. Game is going to be massive. Plus graphically it's very nice. It's the most next gen Harry Potter game we've ever had. Last Harry Potter games have been Lego.

Yeah, I don't think I would trust this list.
It people who search for a game to learn more about it, then there are people who would search for a game for culture war and political reasons.

I don't think internet searches alone is a good metric for popularity.

Super hyped for Hogwarts Legacy!!! Already had my 10 day vacation approved at work for when the game releases on February 7th and im someone who has never read any of the books or watched any of the movies nor will I ever do either but game wise, let's go!!!

Of course it is! No surprise. Hoping it turns out as good as it looks & sounds!

What I’m not looking forward to is the games media firestorm coming from people who will entirely overlook the game in favor of making it solely about JK Rowling. And completely pooping on all the work the developer’s have done on the game. Which will totally drown out the game’s actual quality. So for those of us who just want an honest genuine critique of *just the game*, we’ll have to be careful on what reviews we use to determine actual game quality. I’m hoping it’s high-end 80/90 MC.

This game is going to be huge and thanks to Microsoft making Starfield exclusive, will likely be the biggest game of the year after cod.

The reveal trailer has 31 million views on youtube which are insane numbers for a video game. FF16 reveal from the same event has 4 million and the miles gameplay trailer from the same event has 11 million views.

It also looks like a real AAA HP game and not a bs movie tie-in. It will be just as successful if not more successful than Insomniac's spdierman.

Exactly. I’m interested in it, but will get Zelda and Starfield before getting this game.

Also want to support JKR. Despite what people say, she’s not said anything transphobic. As a victim, she wants other women protected from predators (bad actors) who actively seek loopholes.

It might be the most anticipated overall. Damned if I could say either way. But I certainly won't deny it. Huge IP, looks promising, and multiplatform. Could become this year's Elden Ring in term's of popularity.
