Hogwarts Legacy scores second week at No.1 | UK Boxed Charts

"Hogwarts Legacy has held No.1 in the UK boxed charts, despite a drop in sales of 66% in its second week.

This is according to the GfK retail data. It's actually a relatively modest drop for a big game in its second week. Hogwarts Legacy had a very strong launch weekend and is comfortably the fastest-selling Harry Potter game.

When the digital data arrived at the end of last week, it revealed that Hogwarts Legacy's launch was 88% bigger in the UK than the launch of last year's Elden Ring.

The digital data for its second week will be available later. With the PS5, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions of the game due to arrive later in the year, it's likely the title will continue to appear in the charts all year. "

I know it's a longshot, but I really do hope this game selling like crazy opens the eyes of these companies who try to tip-toe around the feelings of outrage mongers. You don't need them. They don't buy your games and the ones who do that would actually boycott your game are clearly too few to matter. You actually win points by showing them where they can stick it.

Waiting for some brave soul to post thread to that other place (tm). Or will they ignore UK for the rest of the year?
Anyway, not bad for GoW indeed!

Love that the word of mouth is so strong, that all the boycotters claiming it’s a mediocre game are being put to shame.

The strong review scores must have been soul crushing for many

I think the average FIFA and COD game sells around 20-25M. And those games linger in the top 5 all year.

At some point we’ll know what this game sold in month one from someone (or WB will tell themselves). From there we can compare to other top games. And if HP sticks selling along side other top franchises, we should be able to gauge how well it sells to FIFA/COD in year one.

How's this latest boycott going? Have we successfully canceled it, my fellow blue-haired friends?
It’s gone great. Their entire group of 418 people aren’t playing it. A 100% boycott rate.

Can’t say the same for the close to 100 Metacritic reviewers and millions of gamers who have it.
