i just finished my very first zelda game

JokerMM

Gay porn is where it's at.
i've been a PlayStation guy since childhood, my first console was the NES tho, but ever since PS1 i've become a fan and never looked back
fast forward 25 years later, i found an old dusty 3DS in an old store run by an old fella, he sold it to me for $60 and it came with mario land, and zelda a link between worlds
i planned to play mario since it's the only nintendo title i'm familiar with, but then i said fuck it, i've heard only good things about zelda for as long as i remember, and so i started my journey
30 hours later, credits were rolling. this shit is actually really really really good, those bosses, the plot, the music, and oh fuck yeah the puzzles were truly amazing and smart as hell, it kinda have the old tomb raider games feeling to it for some odd reason
i'am fucking hooked
next up is ocarina of time, the greatest game of all time, or so people claim
i'm excited

Cool. Enjoy ocarina of time.

I will say if you plan on playing Majora's mask, please play the original and not 3ds, if possible.

Interested in what you think of Ocarina of Time. It was a magical experience when I was a kid. But for me personally, I can’t enjoy it anymore. Any time I start it, i stop around the 3rd dungeon. While “Link to the Past”, and “Wind Waker” I can still enjoy today.

Only ever finished Link to the past and Link's awakening. Tried the later games with emulators but never finished any of them, maybe I'll pick up and finish Breath of the Wild.

Well, that's because by the time you've finished the third dungeon in Windwaker, you've finished the game.

I played Ocarina of Time for the first time myself around 2011 and it still ended up becoming one of my favourite games of all time. As long as you are old enough to remember and lived through the generation of the game being played it's never too late to go and revisit a classic.

I've never finished it. I think my first attempt was on a GameCube compilation disc, the Wii VC and now on 3DS.
It's my favorite 3D Zelda. The Wii U version if the ultimate version with the fast sailing and the second screen for map and item swapping.

Think I grabbed the wrong quote. I meant OOT. I don't think I've finished Wind Waker either for that matter. For 3D Zelda, I've completed Twilight Princess and BOTW. I love the sandbox in BOTW and I've completely memory holed TP.

for me, most of Zelda suck and have their problems I could not get through.

2D ones are the best by far (you limit the tech troubles with 2D) from Super Famicom and GameBoy. Zelda 64 on the 3DS is the best Zelda in 3D ever made (but f*ck the water temple). I hated its sequel (but I get why some love it), hated windwaker (got lost in the sea and don't know where to go since... you don't know where to go, if you like getting lost, go for it), hated the wolf transformation after. The sequel to Zelda III on 3DS is great. I enjoyed the last on WiiU but it was just ok. I hope they'll improve on this one... for the fans, I'm so done with Nintendo. I'll stay on Playstation.

Be shure to know what kind of problems each Zelda have, because depending on the type of gamers you are, you will love or hate them.

Man, would I kill for Nintendo to stop making cartoonish graphics for their Zelda games.

I wish that their next console rivals PS5/XSX and we get a Mature rated Zelda with ridiculous graphics and gore for the swordplay.

It’s nice to wish…
😔

I just want dungeons again lol

The Legend of Zelda was the most magical a videogame ever felt. I've realized long ago it will never be topped.

Back then, it seemed the entire world was playing it and talking about various secrets.
Had the most fun with the original.
Oh what memories Gold Cartridge,2nd quest and all.

The magic of Ocarina of Time is having played it in its first years.

The best places in Ocarina of time, is the Kakariko village, Lon lon Ranch (Malon is the best in the game), Hylian lake, and The Path to Zora's Domain.

The NES LoZ was the first game I played on the system at a friends house when it came out and was so fucking confused on what was going on. Moving between screens was just too much for my brain at the time. Probably my favorite franchise on Nintendo's systems.

Once the next gen gamecube releases they will do exactly just that, Zelda is going mature, just check this sick demo they showed at spaceworld:

Great things ahead.

I mean the next switch should have like ps4/xb1 graphics at least yeah? Should be cool no matter how they do the graphics

The weird thing is how few games copy the formula. When I go searching for alternatives there are barely any.

Other than the Wii name reveal, I can’t think of a more shocking moment in gaming history. I loved the graphics of Celda from day 1 but man the game itself left a lot to be desired.

Link Between Worlds is great, I love the streamlined speed so that there is very little plot slowdown or padding between dungeons, particularly since you can set out in any order.

You might have a little trouble going from that experience back to older Zelda games where the sequence is so linear and slow (I say that as someone who has finished them all since I first got the gold cartridge as a kid). But OOT 3D is still a good choice on that platform, much faster than playing on the original system (toggling items with the touchscreen instead of the old slow menu changes everything).
