I want a non-mature Elden Ring game...

you've only managed to meet one.
There were others but they were uninteresting. This felt like the first real boss (a big robot), and it was maybe not after 10 hours, but easily 6 or 7. Way too long. The game is padded to death with a ton of stupid quests.

Are you talking about the tutorial bosses? Yeah, they aren't supposed to very interesting since they're mostly introducing mechanics to the player.

I honestly don't know how you thought the game was padded, with almost every quest having unique sequence of events rather than being copy-paste missions, along with the amount of stuff to explore on the map, but thats life i guess 🤷‍♂️

Fredrik, there are hundreds of games you can play with your kids. I don't see a problem. Also, some of the best games for kids are not AAA, so I don't understand that AAA obsession. It's not like kids care how many A's the game has.
This isn’t really about what the kids are playing with me or by themselves, it’s about what I can play by myself while we all live in the same house and share the same living room.

The kids play Minecraft, Mario, No Man’s Sky, Zelda, Forza Horizon, Viva Pinata etc. It’s all good. But I simply can’t personally play most AAA games in the living room because I don’t want any kid to stumble into the living room when someone gets killed or get the head blown off with a shotgun or something like that.

I always have to research how much violence it is before I start a game or even just check a trailer on Gamepass while the family is up.

And to me the violence and gore isn’t interesting. It’s annoying. It’s completely unimportant for my enjoyment of a game. If anything it’s less likely that I’ll play a game if it’s super gory.

Ah, I get it. I got around it by replacing my old monitor setup with 42" LG C2. I actually now prefer to play games in my office vs. living room where I have 65" LG C1.

Luckily more and more games offer gore slider if that's not your thing!

Yup, that’s kinda what I do right now, where the PC is I can close the door. But I only have a 27” screen. Some day I’ll invest in a super ultra wide, looked at a beastly Samsung thing like a week ago, absolutely awesome 👌

Zelda is a better designed game, btw.
Both are great though.

Only Dragon's Dogma 2 might top these two games.

Nice. Ultra wides are super cool, I actually had one myself before switching to 2 x 27" screens and now to a single 42". It was good for games but I didn't like for normal day-to-day use. Now if I want that gaming wide screen fix I just set a custom resolution in Nvidia panel. It looks good thanks to perfectly black bars on OLED. So that's also an option you might want to consider.

What's the best platform to play Immortals Fenyx Rising? I see few people recommending it and it might be just right up my alley.

If you're fine with 2d, you should check out Crosscode. Combat and world/level design are top notch, and its a more light hearted story just like you want.

This is a great game, one of those that I do recommend.

But this game is nothing in common with Elden Ring, If to compare I would rather compare it to Returnal instead of Elden Ring, the game had a lots of shmup element.

Yeah, i know. I'm just being generalist enough since its hard to find games that fit the criteria perfectly (much like Elden Ring and BotW are nothing alike).
So i'm basically focusing on "fun combat" and "fun world exploration".

Please NO.
I play souls game exactly for the dark, depressive mature tone (Bloodborne 💖).
There is already enough joyful games which I enjoy too (Mario 3D World 💖, Captain Toad...).

you can have both.

FS can stick to their dark depressive mature toned games and someone else can make a joyful non mature but challenging game.

Weapon degradation invalidates it from being designed better imo. It also borrows that mechanic from Dark Souls.
But agreed, it’s still a great game.

NO PAIN TRANCE CONTINUE
I adore From's world building and design so I would definitely like to have a BotW with a... let's say less dreadful vibe. Most definitely.

Ow wait less mature? That's not neccessary for me. Just a "brighter whimsical" Elden Ring meets BoTW along with dark brooding magic stuff!!!!

I can understand your desire. I'd like the same thing for Grand Theft Auto. I don't play it because of its themes, and while nowadays the comedic Saints Row comes closer, Simpsons Hit & Run came closest back in the day. But give me a GTA without the hookers and gangsta shit. I'd love to play a modern take on the genre starring Mr Bean or some shit.

As for a lighter, mechanically similar games to Elden Ring or other From games, I can't think of any good ones at all. There's an Ubisoft BotW clone in Fenyx Rising, but it's not anything like Elden Ring.
I really liked Immortals: Fenyx Rising, with exception of all of the puzzle elements. They were necessary to progress the story, not just get extra life or stamina.

I need to fire up Dragon's Dogma I guess the gog version connects online still. Is the server still up?
Capcom is good about keeping that stuff going.

Yeah. The gog version of Dragon's Dogma is behind in patches. Way to go, Capcom. They don't even mention gog on the game's website.

Well of you ever finally decide on getting it, the Steam version still works with the online component. Sucks that the gog version doesn't.

i actually thought the same. i want a final fantasy type storyline and characters (IF well done) with elden ring style gameplay and world. hopefully ff16 will be that !

To be honest I hate that I can only play AAA games at the night when the family is sleeping.
I hate that I can only watch Breaking Bad and The Wire when the family is sleeping...why can't they make it furry for fuck sakes? /s
I want more Ratchet & Clank, Forza Horizon 5, No Man’s Sky, Spider-Man Miles Morales.
You want more sesame street and Elmo...
Most AAA devs are seemingly obsessed about death and misery.
Nah, only a small handful have been able to even do that well, most are light hearted fucking CW shows, with Fox kids level of violence. The fact that you don't have most games with limbs being ripped off from gun violence shows just how detached games generally are from reality, that isn't some fucking standard feature sir, that is a small amount of games that do that and others that don't, literally still have the M rating...
What’s funny is that while they’re very clearly making games for adults they’re at the same time trying to take away all type of sex appeal
Yea...so I think you confused the world for the demographic adults, with the porn theme of "adult". That simply means someone wants their games to have a mature theme like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Ozarks, The Wire, House Of Cards etc, not a fucking porn video to beat off too. So I don't see any of those games as taking away "sex appeal", I see them as depicting the world the way it actually is, ie not a fucking runway model shoot.
Who are they actually making the games for?
Probably adults who are not playing happy-go-lucky Furry Friends games lol

Someone who scream and run away when they see a hot person but get happy and starts taking photos when they see someone die?
I mean come on who is Breaking Bad really for? It's like people just obsessed with staring at drugs right? Lol

The biggest issue with this weird dumbass mindset by the way is it tries to argue that there's some fear of a hot person when in reality there are people who simply want a realistic game and not something that looks like some CW Show or Maxim models or something weird like that so it's not like I'm watching the Ozarks wanting the character that plays Wendy to look like a hot runway model she looks the way I would believe someone's wife would look in that situation.... so believe it or not there's some form of believability that gets taken out of a work when every person is looking like some runway model lol

That's not saying someone's going to scream and run away from a hot person as it sounds like a very slow minded assumption.... that's like me trying to say you wanting to play Furry Friends games with Ratchet & Clank it sounds like someone who screams and runs away from humans to jerk off over furries

It would be like me saying who actually are they making those games for? Pedophiles? That's probably who's playing Ratchet & Clank.... /s lol It tries for force this idea that their difference of an opinion is now a fear, phobias etc.

so I'm not sure how you came to that fucking conclusion and it makes more sense simply to argue that someone has a different opinion than you regarding some of those works instead of trying to question if someone having a different opinion exist. To even suggest someone must have this morbid obsession with death cause they want adult themed games is like saying you have a perverse obsession with furries and kids....
Back in the 80s I’d say that 90% of all AAA games were without brutal deaths and gore.
Back in the '80s the medium was more so geared towards children in the first place which is probably why you're in that furry mindset lol
Not sex, sex appeal. Attractive people with attractive bodies, s
None of that makes sense because the thing you're arguing for is completely subjective for all we know you fucking attracted to furry things in your idea of "Attractive people" are furries and you're demanding more games have that fetish lol Or you like BBWs and are like "where are all the 600LB attractive people I be seeing on 600LB life?, how come they not in games? probably cuz they scared of da sexy appealz"
You laugh but tell me when you actually play a game like TLOUp2 on your new console and big fancy OLED TV in the living room if you have kids.
But I couldn't play the last of us 2 in regards to its violence in my living room in front of my kids anymore than I could watch the Ozarks or Breaking Bad or The Wire or House Of Cards etc...

Compare that to playing a game like Ratchet & Clank where it looks like a kids TV show an
So your entire argument is simply based on the content you want to play in front of your kids or not so if you want to play e-rated or teen rated games you're free to do that but I don't see any weird reason to pretend someone wanting to play something else doesn't exist because it would be equivalent to you trying to fucking question all media that's not Disney.... what you fucking like is a personal view, its not some law or such a norm, that anything else needs to be questioned. I play most of what you listed btw. I however don't pretend it must be furry vs realism TO THE DEATH lol

This 10000%

Some kid is not going to fucking care and in my opinion we've reached the level of quality in games where you could have AA or AAA kids game and I don't know if that kid's fucking noticing or caring. Look at Minecraft look at fortnite the biggest games for kids also happens to be of the ugliest quality graphically in the first place those kids don't fucking care they'll have fun playing those Lego games and could give two shits about some deep realism with Ray tracing reflective lighting or some crap lol

Yeah. I managed to find a cheap key for it. It is pretty annoying that gog is not maintaining it. I like DRM free games.
I hooked up a second external drive to my PC. 5TB.
These games take allot of space.

Not everything needs to child friendly. Not saying there is anything wrong with this but stuff like TLOU2 and Fromsoft games are dark and make no attempt to hide it. It is part of the appeal. In Elden Ring I want to fight grotesque abominations and killers armed to the teeth and not Mickey Mouse cute looking things.

As do I but some times I want to play a game like Zelda which isn't dark but has a incredible feel and charm still.

I guess I feel this way for a few legendary Nintendo IP's.

I understand that but then people should play Zelda. Nobody looks at Zelda and says it should be darker so why do people always want darker games to lighten up.
