If you could give any side character their own game, who would it be?

I'd love to see a spin-off title that goes more on depth with the character Balthier from Final Fantasy XII

A mission based game that takes place before the events of FFXII, Balthier's game starring his partner Fran where you can take on hidden treasures, bounties, miscellaneous quests and hunts. You can travel to memorable locations that would lead you to discovering more about Balthier - his relationship with his father, how he became Judge and how he met Fran etc as well as the world of Ivalice. A girl can dream :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Do you all remember in Paper Mario TTYD you’d always run into Luigi after finishing a new world and he would describe his own heroics in a crazy sounding place, and when he finished you’d talk to his newest partner who’d be all, “nah, that shit didn’t happen, here’s the real story.”

It’s time to finally know the truth! Paper Luigi’s story must finally be seen!

was struggling to come up with a side character for this thread, and then you just walked in with the absolute best idea.

Paper Luigi should be the new paper mario after Origami king. would sell like hotcakes

Anyways it'd be funny to have a Minecraft spinoff centered on the creeper and it's literally just a destruction/strategy game where you blow up as much shit as you can. as you level up and progress you gain more levels, more creepers who can deal more damage, and bigger creepers.
At the end of the game you face off against a powered up Steve in diamond armor. You destroy their house, then you destroy THEM

Man I'm going to have to go super obscure here...

Suzuka-Hime from Super Robot Wars Endless Frontier... a weird game to say the least, a spin off of Super Robot Wars which is also a Spin off of Namco X Capcom and also Xenosaga because KOS-MOS plays a key role as do many of her antagonists, but she already crossed over in Namco X Capcom and events there are directly referenced so it's technically a continuation of that plot line as are some of your other party members.

So what makes this generic demonness shrine priestess unique? Well for one she randomly starts a disco in the middle of battle complete with lighting and disco ball, while controlling a mech with around 12 miniguns to blast everything in sight, she's also essentially a grandma character given she's the generic 100+ year old but still looks young trope, but her voice actor nails it.

While this game got 1 sequel featuring her with EXCEED she hasent shown up when the game evolved into Project X Zone despite multiple characters making it across and making reference to her in that.

She needs her own game damn it.

Still one of my fav DS games and the cast was just great, but this disco dancing grandma character always stuck with me through the years

Bought for the KOS-MOS stayed for the Disco.

Ada Wong for obvious reason and also Juli Kidman . Both of them are super badass and could carry the horror franchise as the protag .

Tom Nook. Prior to the events of Animal Crossing, Thomas Benvolio Nook was a young racoon in the big city dreaming of riches and a quiet life anywhere but here - but can he first extricate himself from the criminal Tokyo underworld that has him trapped by old promises and unbreakable oaths?

Get ready for summer 2024 and Nook, Nintendo's grittiest original game to date.

Maybe a Zelda game with Ganondorf or Zelda as the player character.

I’d like a big focus on magic etc. could be kinda cool to play a character that can actually use their Triforce for stuff imo.

Ukko from Slaine: The Celtic Barbarian.

It would probably resemble the Styx series, but with less assassination and magical destiny, and more being an odious little bastard. Thieving, plotting, backstabbing, heel stuff. He's got that Ferrengi factor of being likeable in spite of - or perhaps because of - being despicable.

Also no disqualification on the technicality of being comic characters, because both of them featured in an obscure C64 adventure game where you had to physically pluck your action verbs out of Slaine's inner monologue:

I always wanted to see the story of the little side helicopter in Tiger Heli fleshed out more. What were its motivations? Who did it love? Things of that nature.
