The whole country of Argentina when Nazi zombies start coming up out of the ground.
Hah, you joke but that is actually the plot of this pulp horror novel from the 80's :p

I wonder why? Blue hairs love socialism.
The rule is that no politics...

...but if you're going for the "it's the national socialist party", North Korea is also the "Democratic People's Republic of Korea". Sometimes, words are just words. With no commonly agreed upon meaning.

No, they always have some funny justification and theory as to why they are naming themselves this way. For example, the Third Reich was the "perfect democracy" - you know why? Because the Fuhrer represented the will of the German people in perfection, which means that when he does whatever he wants, he is actually executing the will of the whole German people, which is democracy. The North Koreans have something similar but I forgot about it.

Alright folks .. I'm kinda baffled at the takes in this thread lol. That seems like a fairly boiler plate warning like most games get at the start.

Just because a RE game is expected to have violence, doesn't stop it from getting the customary violence and gore warnings either, for example.

First the Sonic characters cleavage is “censored”

Then they change some shitty dialogue

Then Dragon Age gets good review scores

Now this, a disclaimer in a video game.

It’s been a rough week for those of us who are perpetually triggered over nonsense

This is an economic policy and economics isn't political in nature.

Also it was a joke.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will include Nazi imagery, accompanied by a statement that the appearance is not “intended to and should not be construed in any way to condone, glorify, or endorse the beliefs, ideologies, events, actions, persons, or behavior of the Nazi and fascist regimes.”

MachineGames, developer of the upcoming action-adventure title, previously included the symbols and imagery in its Wolfenstein series.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circles features Nazi propaganda posters that can be burned for in-game experience, as well as Nazi officers in authentic uniforms.

The following message is included at the beginning of the game:

“Please note that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a fictional story, inspired by historical events and characters. Names, characters, organizations, locations, and events are either imaginary or depicted in a fictionalized manner, not intended to disrespect any historical or cultural beliefs.

“The story and contents of this game are not intended to and should not be construed in any way to condone, glorify, or endorse the beliefs, ideologies, events, actions, persons, or behavior of the Nazi and fascist regimes, nor any other regimes or to trivialize any war crimes, genocide, and other crimes against humanity.”

While Nazi imagery was removed from German editions of games by law, as of 2019, restrictions on Nazi imagery in media have been relaxed. It’s currently unknown if the German release of the game will feature the imagery.

The title will be released first for Xbox Series X/S and PC on December 9, 2024, before coming to PS5 in spring 2025.

VGC recently got the chance to play three hours of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. We called it “the Indiana Jones adventure the franchise deserves.”

“So far, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle isn’t just the Indiana Jones adventure that fans have waited 40 years for; it’s the video game that the franchise has truly deserved. MachineGames seems to be a match made in heaven for the franchise, and we left our demo extremely keen to play more.”

Guess you have to have a disclaimer for even the most obvious shit these days.

.....Yeah, to cover their ass, and there's nothing wrong with it. There are plenty of examples out there that show people attempting to attack companies for ridiculous things. Doing things like this is just a safety net so those ridiculous people can't attempt to make a stink about it.

They're the bad guys, always are.
This doesn't need explaining 🙄
Funny, if Hitler had the technology to show the world all the damage and people killed by the UK/US during WWII you'd have people in America & UK protesting in Nazi colours & waving the flag saying Free Germany

No thanks, it's clear from your triggered behavior you know exactly what I'm talking about already. Not interested in breaking the rules here to waste time with you.
I'm not, you coward. I don't think anyone knows a Nazi running around. So just tell us instead of beating around the bush about it.

Let’s be real, some people definitely need to hear it. That said this is a boilerplate disclaimer that’s no different than RE saying ‘violence and gore’ not sure why it’s to be objected against.

Lmao I might need to read that. It is spooky season afterall.
It's spooky season, which is why you should watch

It has nazis. It has zombies. It has nazi zombies! Yes, the main character is black, but guess what, there were a ton of black soldiers fighting for the US in WW2, albeit segregated, so it's not historically inaccurate. Well, apart from the zombies.

(seriously though, the movie is a lot of fun, if you're willing to look past the silliness)

and what about the Communist-Nazis???

PS. Seeing the ignorance and poverty of ideological awareness of the new generations..... Any reminder is not enough.

Side-Note:
McCammon's later works are actually brilliant, his first few books are pretty pulpy, but by the time of Mystery Walk and Usher's Passing he'd really improved his craft, and his later stuff from the 80's notably Swan Song, Mine, Boy's Life, etc. Are as good as it gets.

Swan Song, really needs adapting, its basically a better version of The Stand written by an author who actually knows how to write a convincing third act!

I’m adding that to my list. That sounds like a good ass time lol

Valuable time, money and resources went to waste on this pointless disclaimer. It seems like some American developers live with this wild belief that nazis are still ubiquitous or noone was taught history in school.

They literally think gamers are the type to see a group depicted entirely straight as the villain and aspire to that instead of the hero (and protagonist) role.

The most bizarre warning sticker I've ever seen was for a microwave oven where it said "don't put your pet inside to dry it from rain/water/fluids."

At least some idiot actually had to try that for them to put it on the sticker. But even that guy wouldn't have thought Indiana Jones was glorifying Nazis.

Overlord is the third best nazi zombie movie - and its not that crowded a sub genre.
Dead Snow and Dead Snow 2 are much better as they don't take themselves too seriously.
*Trigger Warning* In Dead Snow 2 the communist zombies are portrayed as the good guys, this is not intended in anyway to make light of the atrocities perpetuated by the Soviet regime. Also a transplanted nazi zombie arm is used for good but this is in no way meant to imply that the Nazi's were 'in parts' good.

Look, since you're so upset I'll tell you. I'll just keep it in the spoiler tag since it's political talk.

I get where you're coming from, but as the premise is already so absurd, I don't think it's a bad thing that the movie takes itself (somewhat) more seriously. But these are of course a matter of opinion, also of intoxication, when viewing the movie. Sometimes something works better than in other instances. At least we hopefully can agree, fuck them nazi zombies.

Weak people are the reason that we have this

It's so fucking weird those obvious things, yet people still endorse this shit. I mean, here in Brazil we create a law that needs to put in big letters food that we're consuming, so if you buy eggs, it needs to have a warning saying "contains eggs". I'm not fucking around

I’m glad they included this disclaimer. I’d hate to accidentally interpret that the Nazis were actually the good guys. Thanks Xbox for ensuring I don’t actually have to use my brain.

Yeah sure. "Everyone." I could name someone pretty relevant in the news lately that hasn't gotten the memo.

I agree we can't discuss this openly here, but I'd be interested to know who these people are.

PM me. As far as I'm aware we can discuss politics over personal messages.

I'm not discussing it on here because that's no longer allowed. I was a frequent participant in the politics forum pretty much every day when it was open. It's no longer open. Ask the mods if you want to talk politics. I made my point in the 1st post, and the fact that it has triggered people this much is genuinely hilarious to me. The conversation is not allowed. I don't know what you guys cannot understand about that. People get banned for PMs all the time linking to other forums and other crap like that. Go read the news if you want to figure it out yourself.

it's just a fucking disclaimer. These exist for all kinds of purposes, mostly legal.
Yeah I mean this is a trend that's been going on for decades now of products having disclaimers aimed at the dumbest consumers imaginable, like DO NOT EAT on Tide Pods etc., really nothing new as a concept - I think Legal Disclaimers For Idiots started showing up in the 80's.

So you're gloating that you dropped some regressive NPC oCtObEr sUrPrIsE bullshit partisan bait and have the gall to blame others for your own retarded gaslighting?

Zero accountability ideology indeed.
