Is the porn the last industry to have blatant racism AND profit from it?

Porn doesn't pretend to be anything more than it is. In theory it is not marketed towards children and the young, easily impressionable. Wrestling is, as you put it. So there's some degree of difference, regardless of how they are both low-brow.

That just makes me think that pro wrestling and racism is a more worthy topic than porn and racism. I don't know why you were so dismissive of pro wrestling being brought up. It is marketed to children and is still rife with casual to blatant racism constantly. That seems like a bigger deal than what happens in porn to me. Just this week, a new Tea Bagger "these colored people don't look or sound like me, they're ruining our country and we must get rid of them" character debuted. This is a show for kids. It's not 24, it's not some adult drama. It's a PG family show. In almost all cases, the racism is towards a heel, where it is seen as a GOOD thing and deserved. Very, very rarely is there a story where the heel is a racist and gets what is coming to him for it with the moral of the story being everyone is equal. In the past decade, I can think of maybe 3 stories where the heel was the racist and the face overcame him. MOST of the time it is the good guys being casual racist and no one batting an eye at it.

So, why do you think pro wrestling and racism doesn't count? It is often times as blatant as the porn world with it, and WWE is a publicly traded company getting away with it constantly.

Alright, then why not make a thread about it? See if the majority agrees that there's a legitimate problem in the wrestling industry with racism and how it should be dealt with.

Mostly because this thread already covers it by asking if other industries profit from blatant racism. Which pro wrestling does. And there is a wrestling community topic where it comes up from time to time anyway.

Yes, but don't you think hearing some outside-the-community views would be useful?

Seems to me you're missing out on a good source of info for your own digestion, if you really are interested in this topic (this thread is dying).

Make the thread and see what feedback you get.

Hello, says pro wrestling.

Even in a PG environment, in just the past few years WWE has had a team of black dudes who had a gimmick of being thugs who stole stuff and sold it. It was allegedly a parody of how racists see black people, but that was dropped immediately and they were just thugs who stole stuff, but were the good guys.

Then you currently have R-Truth who has been doing a straight up minstrel character for the past 2 years. You also have Wrasslegaf favorite the Big Show who is an outright racist to the Mexican Alberto Del Rio and his announcer Ricardo Rodriguez. At least he's the bad guy. Before, John Cena and Sheamus were outright racist to them despite being the number one and two babyfaces. Let's not forget that Mark Henry has been billed as both the Silverback and King of the Jungle. There are STILL Samoan wrestlers who wear jungle prints, wear no shows, and have unimaginably thick craniums. Just a few weeks ago, CM Punk called the audience and WWE out for having Brodus Clay "shuck and jive" every week. Clay responded that he LIKED shucking and jiving.

If you go back a bit further, you can look at Booker T's entire career, basically. When Harlem Heat debuted in WCW, they came out in chains and were managed by a Southern man in a white suit. This was in the 90s. Over the years, his promo style was all jive talk and they were heels mostly because WCW was a Southern based company. Towards the end of WCW, people would cut promos about his jive talk, mother being food stamps, not knowing his father, and on and on. Once he went to WWE, he became a straight up buffoon and had a feud with HHH that was heavily focused on "people like you" kind of talk.

And my wife thinks I am crazy for telling her that Vince McMahon is a racist. Never forget JYD. Never forget

Amateur stuff will always be second rate.

That depends on what you're looking for. I have seen a few porn industry documentaries that are absolutely unified in saying that amateur content, and tube sites, nearly destroyed the industry. Really hurt it. Amateur stuff has been looking real good lately but you don't get to see the big names, or more extreme/crazy/gonzo stuff that way. If there were no such thing as tube sites, I would probably pay to see a few specific names (Jessica Darlin, Sheena Shaw, Kelly Wells, Melanie Jagger) but I would never pay for amateur porn.

And yet it's easier to name stars that do not do IR than those that do. What do you think the % is? Pretty much every single porn star does IR. Especially modern porn stars (ie:any star from the last 3-4 years).

Who doesn't do IR anyway? Jenna Jameson and, I can't even think of another? Well, even she has done lesbian IR, but people don't seem to want to count that for some reason.

tiffany brookes. look her up.
