Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
Honestly, I think this issue has been way overblown, because it only make sense that Sony doesn't want to offer free or a cheap upgrade path for Horizon Forbidden West. And so what if Sony previously said that they were going to offer free upgrade for the game but not offer it now? Do you guys not change your mind over time before? Can you guys really say you haven't break any promises ever in your life? Do you even remember all the promises you made to your parents when you were less than 10 years old? Gonna call you a liar if you say you remember and stick to each and every promises you have ever made in your life. Its perfectly fine for people to make the wrong judgement initially before they realized their mistakes and reverse their decision.

Business is all about making more money, so I don't see why anyone should treat it like its a bad thing as long as Sony makes money. If you were in Sony's shoes and realized that you can rack in more money this way, wouldn't you do it? If you can afford a PS4 and PS4 version of the game, and have money to upgrade to a PS5, then surely you are able to afford a little bit more money for the PS5 version of the game. If you can't afford $70 then wait for sales, or buy the Digital Deluxe/Collector's/Regalla Editions? The Deluxe edition (containing both PS4 and PS5 version) is just $10 more than the PS5 version, and $10 is a negligible amount. It is pretty self entitled to demand that you get access to the PS5 version of the game just because you have purchased the PS4 version.

The issue is how tone deaf this decision is knowing the climate right now with trying to get a PS5. Not having a upgrade path shows you dont give a shit about what they purchased previously. And if you want people to stay in your eco-system you need to treat their purchases fairly especially when you release the same game on two platforms you own as company.

Not being able to just spend $10 and upgrade to PS5 version is kind of stupid. You are basically getting the difference of the price gap between PS4-PS5 and it's direct through PSN so no middle man.

Its super tone deaf.

Sony could have made this so easy.

PS4: 70 bucks
PS5: 70 bucks

Buy one, get both. No tears and still enough extra cash for Sony.
