Bayonetta 3 for Switch was the highest selling single SKU new release of the week, opening at 41,285 retail copies sold.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force was the highest selling multiple SKU new release, moving 27,001 units on PlayStation 4 and 17,177 copies on PlayStation 5 for a combined total of 44,178 retail copies sold.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II debuted at 24,371 units on PlayStation 4 and 17,710 units on PlayStation 5 for a combined total of 42,081 retail copies sold.

On the hardware side, the PlayStation 5 family sold 38,866 units, the Switch family sold 38,634 units, the Xbox Series family sold 3,674 units, and the PlayStation 4 family sold 11 units. Next-generation consoles continue to face stock issues.

Bayonetta 3 numbers are not great. It feels like the game kind of came and went here but surprised to see it didn’t make a bigger splash in Japan.

I don’t get it. It’s number 2 in Japan sales. How’s that not a big splash? What were you expecting?

It was never a mega blockbuster. Number 2 behind Splatoon is pretty decent. It's also more popular in the west from what I remember.

Switch exclusives sell way over 100k many times. Bayonetta failed to outsell Splatoon 3. A game released in early September.

It's not a flop but it's hardly setting the charts on fire.

I am surprised only around 5 million Switch Lites have been sold. Every kid I see here in the U.S has the Lite model.

Also, at 26 million units sold overall, where does this place the Switch compared to the Wii, 3DS, DS and Playstation 2? I dont think Nintendo is losing any sleep after having to merge their console and handheld business. Their sales are 3x that of PS4.

It’s a mature game. Bayonetta was never a blockbuster seller. It’s just a very high-quality action game for mature audiences. It’s the black sheep in Nintendo’s line-up. And thank Zeus for that.

Well, the DS alone sold 36 million in Japan. Add in the fact that the Wii was selling at the same time, and that sold 13 million in Japan... they aren't quite at that level. They are certainly well above the 3DS/WiiU combination though.

I wonder what will happen to Tri-Ace. I didn't expect high Star Ocean 6 sales, but I was expecting even worse numbers.

I think there was a lot more hype going into this one, especially being on the Switch and not the failing Wii-U. The fact that it’s barely selling above 2 is like i said…not great. The franchise hasn’t really progressed at all, which is inline with what Dring was saying about the upward trajectory of a lot of switch titles this year

Bayonetta 3 did OK, Switch loses a week for the first time since February 2018 when monster hunter world debuted on PS4. Switch sales should be back over 100K next week with the release of the Pokemon Scarlet/Violet Oled model.

I also remember when Xbox outsold the PS5. It's likely demand from the weeks when the PS5 was woefully undershipped is being met causing these abnormal one-week spikes. Real weekly numbers would be much lower if supply was consistent week to week.

Bayonetta 2 is a million seller on Switch and Bayo 3 will likely do well worldwide. If not at least be happy it managed to get made. Wonder what the digital to physical ratio is.

And well the Switch has already sold 26mil in Japan. It has to slow down at some point.
