Gameforge has acquired the North American and European publishing rights to the Blueside-developed multiplayer online action RPG Kingdom Under Fire II. It will launch for PC later in 2019 in North America and Europe on multiple digital platforms.

Here is an overview of the game, via Gameforge:
Originally announced in 2008, Kingdom Under Fire II is the latest and most ambitious entry in the award-winning Kingdom Under Fire series, combining massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) and real-time strategy (RTS) genres for a hybrid title unrivaled in its epic scale. KKingdom Under Fire II has received numerous accolades during its region-limited beta—including winning MMOGames’ “Most Innovative” award at Gamescom 2015—and is the next installment in the Kingdom Under Fire series after the highly-rated 2004 Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders. It remains one of the most fan-anticipated games throughout Western territories.

“The Kingdom Under Fire series is a favorite among those of us at Gameforge, so we’re very excited to partner with Blueside to continue this epic saga and finally bring it to Western markets for the very first time,” said Tomislav Perkovic, Chief Product Officer. “We are determined to help Blueside realize their vision of the ultimate MMO, launching Kingdom Under Fire II for Windows PC in North America and Europe later this year.”

“Blueside has always sought a publishing partner with significant experience and a deep understanding of the Western online games market required to properly service Kingdom Under Fire II,” said Sejung Kim, CEO of Blueside. “Based on their unique and extensive experience bringing Asian multiplayer titles to Western markets, we believe Gameforge is the publisher we’ve been looking for. We are very excited to collaborate with Gameforge to finally introduce Kingdom Under Fire II to fans throughout Europe and North America.”

Kingdom Under Fire II is set in a world where three powerful factions—the Human Alliance, Dark Legion, and Encablossians—compete for control over the land of Bersia. Players can choose from several hero classes and focus on building up their individual characters, or command massive armies as war strategists. Kingdom Under Fire II takes place 50 years after the events of Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders and features an immersive multiplayer story campaign that can be experienced online multiplayer.

Wow this thing still exists?

Anyway, I still think it looks fun but seeing it described as an MMO sort of kills my interest if it translates into tons of grinding and repetitive content

I loved this game on OG Xbox, it’s been so long since I have played it I have no idea what I would think of a sequel.

Wasn’t there a sequel on 360, but I think it was quite different?

Yeah, there was. Circle of Doom or something it was called. If you played it with others it was a pretty entertaining game actually, but it was a slog solo. It had a pretty cool crafting system where you applied skills to weapons. Don't remember well, but I think you could add flying and spinning to weapons so they'd just fly around enemies.

KOFII coming west after all these years is pretty wild.

I think I prefer kingdom under fire when it was like this. Spent so many hours playing that

This seems like a mix of total war and dynasty warriors from the trailer.

Alexios

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
I remember this being shown off as having awesome performance on Core 2 Duos and GeForce 7 Series cards... Did it grow past those early requirements (and is it any good, I had no idea it was finished in any region)?

Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes

I'm trying to remember, but it wasn't different at all. They doubled down. It was just bigger in every way. More heroes and a bigger campaign. I wish I knew what happened to my disc of the game. I think I lent it to someone.

Nice to see, I'll have to give it a shot. Its been so long though. I still have all my original copies, with the two on the og Xbox being my fave. The second in particular. Cirith was my main bae and still is. I really enjoyed the mechanics in those and it was challenging at times. I wasn't too keen on Circle of Doom as it changed the style but was kind of bland. Plus I miss my dark elves. The music was awesome too.

I wish this wasn't an MMO and had a single player campaign. I've been wanting to play a new KUF game for such a long time.
