that makes no sense. changing your name to celebrate your history? there has to be another reason. why do companies change their name when it's not that big of a difference? they'll still be known as konami to everyone.

i mean i get why Facebook changed it's name to Meta because they wanted a fresh slate after all the bullshit they've done. While I'll always call them Facebook, because fuck them, at least they went for something completely different.

OK, I get that we're mostly joking here about all the horrible names Konami deserves to label itself as for not being Konami anymore, but just to be clear, Konami already changed its name.

They were "Konami Holdings Corporation"
Now they are "Konami Group Corporation".

It's the most boring name-change of all time, so I get that people glossed over it, but it is right there in the article.

They're not changing the name "Konami", they're changing the rest of the name.
