Kotaku - The Master Chief Collection Is What Happens When A Studio Doesn’t Give Up On A Game.

It's a weird title. Because You could also say "The Master Cheif Collection is what happens when a publisher pushes out an unfinished and broken game".

Game should have never came out in the state it was in. It has taken them over 4 years to get to this point. We shouldn't really be 'celebrating' this.

Seriously. The amount of backpedaling that happened after launch when it became apparent the game was a clusterfuck. “Oh it wasn’t actually us, we contracted these half dozen other houses to do it for us we just oversaw things sort of.” Fucking why, exactly? Aren’t you the studio that was founded specifically to make Halo games? How did you fuck this up so badly? I haven’t seen a beloved franchise get screwed so thoroughly since uh...those CDi Mario and Zelda games maybe?

But hey good on them for fixing it long after most people gave a shit. I can’t be too mad though, maybe that extra time working on the old games will finally give them a fucking clue on how to make a decent Halo game on their own.

If superman 64 and E. T. were dug up and made to be in a more playable state, would we praise those devs too after all those years....? Such perseverance Huh

Superman64 and E.T were shit to start with - this does not apply to Halo but you know that. It was never as broken after the first few patches as the over-neggers made out but it was far from where it should’ve been for such a prestige franchise. Now it is there an people are happy. Imagine how hard you’d be posting if Driveclub had received the same commitment and had a checkerboard 4K Pro patch and continuous updates! Yeah that.

So's Scalebound, Fable Legends, The Last Night, Below, Qauntum Break, Crackdown 3, etc.

It's not always a good thing or a great result.
