Legendary emulator NESticle had an unknown follow-up, SNESticle, in Fight Night Round 2 for Gamecube

Super Punch Out was featured, as a Nintendo exclusive extra, in Fight Night Round 2 for Gamecube. 17 years later, Johannes Holmberg has hacked it and discovered it was actually the successor of NESticle, one of the NES emulators with the lowest requirements back then, internally called SNESticle and developed by Sardu (Bloodlust Software) as well.

It is not much than a curiosity, because per-game emulators are always a bit lacking and, anyway, Gamecube already has a proper port of Snes9X, which is probably much better. But, according to the copyright, SNESticle could have been ready for 1997. Of course it never happened.
