So i quickly googled wikipedia of these current game series and copied and pasted their game lists format from the big 3 i didn't include Valve since they don't make games anymore.
The way some of these lists were formatted on Wiki ranges and listed differently so apologies for listing inconsistency i just copied and pasted also lemme know if i missed any

LATIN, MATRIPEDICABUS, DO YOU SPEAK IT
Donkey Kong would be Nintendo's longest running IP, no?

Which was also Mario's introduction. They both go back to 1981. Mario's first game outside of the Donkey Kong stuff would be 1983 with Mario Bros (along with Luigi).

Might & Magic (including the Heroes of Might & Magic sub-series) is definitely also a contender for this.
Edit: Oh, console first party IPs. Sorry.

LATIN, MATRIPEDICABUS, DO YOU SPEAK IT
There's also stuff like Namco with Pac-Man (1980), that had releases throughout the years. The latest being last year with Championship Edition 2.

Not a modern console first party, but if you go back long enough any major arcade producer back in the day was a first party platform in their own right.

Sonic for Sega will have been going for a while.

Yeah but don't think they're currently First Party they're Third Parties now aren't they
I guess i could add them though it was originally meant to be First Parties from Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and Valve.

LATIN, MATRIPEDICABUS, DO YOU SPEAK IT
Yeah but do they currently count in First Party? Aren't they now Third Party studios?

Sega was a major first party for almost 20 years, so while they don't currently count as one I can see an argument for their inclusion if you're looking at longevity.

Though I'm not really seeing any major discussion point in the thread otherwise if you just want to restrict things to the major 3 platforms. A little research and you'll have a list of titles, what else would be there to discuss without the thread devolving into random posts of lists?

I guess i could add them though it was originally meant to be First Parties from Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and Valve.
Honestly, I'd count Sega (and maybe Atari?) franchises that were created when they were still first party console developers, and have survived this long into their careers as third parties.

Though as far as Sega's concerned, the only franchise that immediately comes to mind is Sonic... After Burner, Outrun and Daytona USA get the occasional day in the limelight, at least?

When was the first Tetris?
June 6th, 1984 for the Elektronica 60, a Soviet computer.

I mean, it's probably not what you were asking, but it's the answer all the same!

Hot Shots Golf/Everybody's Golf should be up there for Sony. The first title release back in 1997 in Japan and 1998 for the U.S. The has been at least one version on every piece of Sony hardware since except for the PS4 and that is due this Summer. Overall there has been 12 releases if you count the Hot Shots Tennis games also.

Can anything measure up to Nintendo?

Practically all of their ips are almost 30 years old, see regular updates* and sell gazillions.

*Save for Metroid. And Fzero would to, though in that case I believe it's because they know they can't top GX so they won't even try.

The mario Franchise, if you don't count Donkey Kong, starts with Mario Bros., not SUPER Mario Bros.

Remember, they were just plumbers before they were super.

WipEout should have just about every Sony IP in the OP beat, since it launched with the console and is getting a new game (well, porting of 3 older games) this year.

Pac-Man for duration. Also Space Invaders if you count Pachinko and the remixes from a few years back.

Seems so for Sony IP, so far it seems Mario is the longest running and most used IP for Nintendo compared to all others like Namco etc

Space Invaders listing in Wiki is all confusing and not copiable unless i do alot of edits

You are missing pokemon, and for the Mario franchise Mario kart, tennis, party.
Added, for Mario kart etc it's in the Mario list

I would recommend adding the 8-bit Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2, released on the Sega Master System at the same time as the Genesis (Mega Drive) games, as they were not ports of the original games, but completely separate games in the series made parallel with the Genesis games.
