What a load of shite, why do people like this sort of thing? Can't they save money AND have an even "scarier" experience by just walking the streets at 3am, maybe going to a local park and have a tramp/pished person jump out of a bush and scare the shit out of you.
That's why I'm looking forward to tormented souls, she gets a gun, she can fight back , all these walkie spooked feel exactly the same, wait until the monster is gone move forward, rinse repeat

Eh I dunno. Running from supernatural terrors, armed with a camera and all the offensive capability of an arthritic grandma is getting real old at this point.

MADiSON is a very intense first person psychological horror game where you descend into insanity after a demon forces you to complete a gory ritual.

First featured on Alpha Beta Gamer way back in 2017, MADiSON is gearing up for a full release soon and the devs have released a new demo. The second half of the demo is pretty similar to the original demo build, but the first half is all new and gives a little more of the narrative (it appears you may very well be a “mad son”, and your father is very disappointed in you)

In the game you take on the role of Luca, a young man who awakens in a darkened room covered in blood. It appears a demon has forced you to commit terrible acts and perform an ancient ritual. As you try to piece together the pieces of what you’ve done you’ll search for clues, solve puzzles and use your Polaroid-style instant camera. Maybe some things are best left forgotten though…

It’s a very creepy game with remarkably high quality visuals, lots of great environmental detail and a very unsettling atmosphere. The impressive audio and visual design combine to create an incredibly intense experience that has you on the back foot right from the start and there are some great little scares throughout. Highly recommended.

Even with the few issues it does have though, MADiSON is a great game. 2014’s P.T. was a watershed moment for survival horror games, and in the years since then, we’ve had countless games that have tried to replicate its first person psychological horror mastery.

Not many have succeeded, but MADiSON surely comes closer than most. It has a great understanding of the key tenets of any good horror experience – pacing, atmosphere, tension, knowing when to be restrained and when to let loose – which more than makes up for some of its more frustrating gameplay and technical issues. If you’re a fan of psychological horror, or of horror in general, this is a game that you definitely need to check out.

I’m conflicted. I went back to Soma and it was frustrating to play. I also didn’t like how much it felt like one big maze inside the Matrix. Running into the same pack lock in the dark wasn’t much fun. I’ve heard mixed thoughts on Martha is Dead. I wasn’t exactly scared with Visage. These type of games feel like a dime a dozen. Unless someone here can say it was the best horror experience in 20 some years then I’ll pass.

I watched Alanah(?) play this and it has that same “you can rotate random objects that are completely pointless to the overall game until you figure out what you actually have to do” type of feeling.

Reviewed by Tristan Ogilvie on PC. Also available on PlayStation and Xbox.

"Madison is a mostly thrilling trek through darkness, packed with challenging puzzles to solve and plenty of disturbing secrets to uncover. Its clever use of the camera’s flash and eerie audio design combined for plenty of anxious moments, so it’s especially deflating that all that tension sometimes turns to tedium due to unnecessary inventory restrictions and tiresome backtracking. Yet even with these occasional momentum-stalling detours, Madison is still a creepy crawl through a twisted haunted house with enough genuine out-of-your-seat scares to leave you shaken like a Polaroid picture."
