Max Payne 3 has a fantastic soundtrack

I actually enjoyed the game a lot despite some of its flaws. The soundtrack is fantastic. I really do hope that Rockstar makes another game in the series. I thing there's definitely room left for a sequel.

The first two Max Payne games still have some pretty memorial tracks burned into my brain as well.

Tears by Health is incredible. Felt so awesome during the airport terminal section.

Still listening to the track when I'm jogging in summer.

They're all fucking great.
SHELLS and +90 are another two i love (other than the one i posted above).

PAIN reminds me of an early Silver Mt. Zion track.

Shells is so good I can't listen to it without also hearing the in-game gunshots. It's so perfect for that scenario.

If there's one thing Rockstar has consistently gotten right, it's their original soundtracks. Easily been the best part of their last few games.

it bums me out a lot of people never played this game, considering it was one of the bigger building blocks for GTA with a much tighter, better story.

really hope they continue this franchise and maybe go back to the urban setting, some of the noir was lost because of the exotic location.

Yes, but not just the soundtrack. Way too many people dislike the game for supposed bad gameplay and writing. I disagree on both fronts. It might not have been as well-written as the first two, I will concede that, but it was still miles ahead of 98% of the rest of video games. As for the gameplay, it was superb. The movement and shooting felt great.

An amazing and underrated video game.

The best soundtrack for EatChildren's favorite game.

But seriously, I love the OST, fantastic for Max's psyche throughout the game. One of the most original and well done soundtracks in games ever.

Health's song in GTAV (High Pressure Dave) is also fantastic.

Fantastic game with a fantastic soundtrack. Rockstar really delivered a true extension to this series. It's not as good as Max Payne 2, but still excellent nonetheless.

2.5 years after its release, I still have some Max Payne 3 tracks in regular rotation. HEALTH really killed it on this one; one of the outstanding game soundtracks of the 7th generation, and maybe my favorite, period, from the "AAA" sphere. The thing is, I didn't even like the game that much; it's one of those games where I've spent more time listening to the music than playing it.

Anyone else fire up this OST every now and then?

Without a doubt, it also has the best shooting mechanics in the TPS genre!

Health talked about the soundtrack getting a vinyl release right around the launch of the game. I think I'll stop waiting for such a release.

I´ve been eyeing the 360 version that I´ve seen for about $10 USD, and there´s no way I´m DL the 30 GB steam version with my slow-ass 1 MB Internet. Didn´t know the OST was so appreciated, don´t want to listen to it so I don´t spoil myself.

The 360 version is 5 dollars today and something called a Rockstar pass for 3.75$ is that all the dlc?

Shells and Painkiller are sosososososo good.gif

The way Painkiller switches up halfway though. I always get the urge to shave all my hair off and go shoot up Brazil.

The soundtrack took me by suprise and it is now one of my all time favourites. I like pretty much every track in it with 'Tears' just taking the cake for me.

I really didn't like MP3, but yeah, that soundtrack.
Everytime I wanted to stop playing, some great new song would play

If only you could skip cutscenes the whole game would have been MUCH better. It completely killed repeat playthroughs or the challenge stuff sitting through those cutscenes

Soundtrack is awesome though, the last level when TEARS kicked in was amazing

Very little is.

You simply can't emulate Lake's style without it coming off badly, so they did the only thing they could and made it their own. They did a marvellous job of doing their own thing with the property with their revisionist take.

All I want now is a Mona Sax game.

Go see John Wick if you want the Max Payne movie you've been waiting for. Even has an explanation to use painkillers in a gunfight in it.

The full mix of the club music was posted a couple years back on Rockstar's Soundcloud, if you're into that kind of thing: https://soundcloud.com/rockstargames/trouble-in-brazil-mix-tape

http://www.rockstargames.com/maxpayne3/features/soundtrack

Max Payne 3's in-game soundtrack also features signature Brazilian world beat and electronic tracks heard throughout the game's São Paulo levels as well as some pounding heavy bass mixed by Trouble & Bass for the Nightclub sequence, gritty blues heard in the Hoboken Bar sequence and much more. Visit the Credits page for the complete list of licensed tracks.

Below you can listen and download NYC DJ collective and dance label Trouble & Bass's original mix of heavy bass tracks spun for the patrons of São Paulo's Club Moderno - heard by Max, Fabiana Branco and her siblings on a fateful night of partying that soon turns deadly.

The best part of hearing TEARS during the airport shootout was how poignant the lyrics were. It was about Max finally coming to terms with his lose and finding the strength to move on. Which he finally did towards the end. Hearing this particular lyric repeatedly was incredibly effective.

Trust us now
It's time to let me go
Give up on us
Follow what you want
Trust us now
It's time to let me go
Give up
Give our soul away
