Did they overship the 3DS Monster Strike? Or maybe its spot of popularity on the mobile world had already ended by the time the 3DS version came out? It seems to have hit its peak in early 2015 (according to Wikipedia) while the 3DS version came out at the end of the year in December.

Is it even a good game? I really don't know anything about it; just surprised there's still 100k copies from the first print unsold.

It's still the biggest mobile game in Japan.

Amazon opens up pages for Yokai Watch 3, as wel as the official site.

Amazon contains screeshots of the game as well as some artwork.

As mentioned some days ago the game releases on July 16th and it takes place in the US.

The game has a lot of NFC stuff there, with the medals. They seemingly changed the combat too, wonder how will that play out.

HOLY SHIT THE BOXART

They totally overshipped it. A damn shame, because sales certainly weren't bad. They really should've paid more attention to pre-orders numbers and the such instead of trying to hit 1m shipped just for the sake of it.

There's a huge tracker difference for this game.

According to Famitsu, the shipment is less than 970k, and the last time the game was seen in the top 30 was in March 27th:

30./28. [3DS] Monster Strike <RPG> (Mixi) {2015.12.17} (¥4.500) - 3.448 / 931.067 <80-100%> (+19%)

Currently the stock left on stores should be less than 35k units. Probably the shipment will be sold very soon according to this tracker.

According to Media Create the game shipped at launch:

01./00. [3DS] Monster Strike <RPG> (Mixi) {2015.12.17} (¥4.860) - 437.903 / NEW <46,26%> [Units shipped => 946.613]

The last time that we got MC numbers for that Game was in February 21st.

20./12. [3DS] Monster Strike <RPG> (Mixi) {2015.12.17} (¥4.500) - 5.083 / 800.205 (-32%)

Looking the position in the Top 50 the following weeks, we can estimate around 830k sold according to Media Create. So there're still around 115k copies in shelves. That's a huge difference.

Using the third tracker, according to Dengeki the game is sitting at:

24./22. [3DS] Monster Strike <RPG> (Mixi) {2015.12.17} (¥4.500) - 2.311 / 901.434

It's between the two trackers, closer to Famitsu in units sold. But regarding shipment, Dengeki says that Monster Striker shipped more than a million around 1.036.000 units. That means that there're still 135k copies left at stores according to Dengeki. That's even more than what Media Create says.

Here some links for sources:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=190375235

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=190320110

In conclusion, there's big tracker disparity regarding this game. Famitsu is the most positive tracker, the other two still have over 100k copies waiting on shelves.

This is new, right?

Dragon Ball Fusions (3DS)? Or is just the first trailer. It seems a lot higher quality than I'd expect.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldgcB6q9De4

Game isn't new (revealed in November), but trailer is. I agree, it does look pretty good, and not just the graphics.

I wonder when it'll be released (August?).

As Takao mentioned in another thread, it's most likely multiplat, though launching on 3DS first (like that One Piece game). Guess that'll depend on whether it gets localised or not (sure hope it does).

The game was announced in January. It seems to be a big push for Bandai Namco. It's developed by Ganbarion with production values that match their efforts. Plus, it's also got a tie-in manga, which is something no other non-arcade Dragon Ball game has gotten before.

I think that depends entirely on when Xenoverse 2 is projected to launch. I'm also not 100% confident BN would want to sell a chibi game on home consoles.

What do you all make of Star Fox Zero? Was it supposed to be a testing of the waters or was it meant to be something to just fill the Wii U lineup as it walked toward the sunset? Both? Or maybe it started off bigger and they decided to scale down once they saw where the Wii U was going.

Well, it was in a concept stage forever. But it seems eventually they just went with a way to show off the gamepad (using the 2 assymetrical screen, with gyro aiming). That's pretty much it. With a budget under the tier of Smash and Mario Kart.

Sales wise? They're probably not expecting much. Obviously they expect a bit more from the west.

During this weekend, Bic Camera has received new shipments of Wii U. Mario Maker Set in more quantity, but low shipment as common. So we can expect Splatoon, and especially Mario Maker doing a great comeback.

Yo-Kai Watch 3 reservations as usual. The most pre-ordered game at Santy Shop. Sushi being a little bit above.

The new amibo series of Kirby arrived at Takarajima Stores. It's expected to sell alongside the new Kirby game.

Both. It never was going to be a big budget title anyway, it's Star Fox.

Yo-Kai Watch 3 reservations as usual. The most pre-ordered game at Santy Shop. Sushi being a little bit above.

Why did they put the boxart of YW3 on what seems to be the old post for the second Yo-kai Watch movie? Ha ha.

Or maybe I was on mobile when I posted that originally and literally did not see it. No need for the smartass comment champ.

I posted from mobile too and I have an iphone 4, I suggest you to change your current phone if it can't do what a 6 years old phone can, pal

Since we're hearing some developers not liking the PS4K, were there any negative reactions to the New 3DS in Japan by developers? I don't remember hearing anything one way or the other.

I suspect this ties into project scale, scope, costs, and the fact that the 3DS/N3DS executes its code without need of a "Neo" mode for anything. About as far as the N3DS has taken it has been to leverage CPU for operation times, giving access to non-OS RAM, and loading in better assets. The obvious age of the 3DS hardware also allows some newer games to run on the newer hardware. But the hardware, otherwise, seems to have zero demands for new code unless chosen to do so, and will just run games as if it were a regular 3DS.

Also next to no one in the west develops for it!

App Annie put up an article about using anime/manga IP driven events to drive monetization in mobile apps in Japan: http://blog.appannie.com/app-moneti...to Drive App Monetization: Deep Dive on Japan

They go into examples of "MAJOR" (a baseball manga) tie-in events for PowaPro and Evangelion events for Line Rangers.

Thanks for the read!

Just realised that Golden Week started next week (April 29th). Time sure flies by... Hopefully this year will be better than last year, which was pretty "meh" overall.

Different situations, Nintendo never required a enchanced version for all 3ds games

Well, there's still time for a Sept release, but that will mean a direct confrontation with FFXV.
Does Atlus want that?

I think it could still make Aug with a 3 month order window, but that's kinda tight for marketing. Also doesn't make sense for a worldwide release anymore if that's the case. I smell a delay for that reason too.
