I read one report of somebody finishing the game in roughly 10 hours. Any game that's charging full-Nintendo price and giving you 10 hours is criminal, hope it's not true but I'll be watching this versus playing it based on boss difficulty, I've had my self esteem crushed by this franchise enough to know better. I'm probably as excited to enjoy watching a play through as some of you are to play it.

What’s full price? Switch games are £30-£40 day one in the UK, an absolute bargain compared to other publisher prices.

Cheers, based on what I've read and what you and others here have said its either midnight or 5am release in the UK. Hopefully the former since sites said first party generally comes out at midnight in the UK, same times as US east coast.

I can 100% Super Metroid in about 90 minutes and it took me around 10 hours to beat the first time as a 9 year old. It’s the greatest game ever made

I'm still playing Dread on the Switch, just because it's 60fps and imo looks very nice. But other games, like Xeno 2, Astral Chain or maybe even SMT V? God knows I'll be buying the games but probably play them emulated.

Agree mate, but while the screen looks nice it's the games resolution and frame rates. Like I tried Xeno 2 once, and on handheld it looked like someone had smeared vaseline over the screen.

I like the Switch's games, some of them even a lot, but the hardware is outdated as fuck.

For me the jury's still out if it's the best 2D Metroid. Not too far into it. It makes a strong start

It's more ambient like BOTW. The songs aren't that memorable but the game is more about the sound effects in Alien territory, which are very good. Some sudden bursts of music are good.

Oohh i like that direction. Constant synth beats can sometimes remove all the atmosphere if it’s always on (DQ11 comes to mind)

The best part is you wouldn't notice this one bit playing it undocked mode.

Even the Steamdeck version would look the same at 800 p. Actually it would look better on OLED.

It's sharp as hell and 60 fps.
