They don't need to acquire any, they basically do Playstation exclusives by default...And how many have they acquired?

There is nothing that Sony does with their money that is out of reach of Microsoft's capabilities.
So none, correct?
Because this was my statement:
FTFYThere is nothing that Sony does with their money YET that is out of reach of Microsoft's capabilities.
Yep.Well, last year, let's go over all their AAA first-party games.
Hmm, you're right. They didn't have any poorly reviewed games, as they released a total of zero.
The number of bad games really isn't a big issue. It's the number (or lack thereof) of GOOD games that matters.
Redfall seems like a big deal because they haven't released a big AAA game in 18 months and it's been "wait for Starfield and Redfall" for a long time.
FTFY
It was just an example of something Sony can potentially do out of MS reach because of laws, not money.
(every country should have laws like that...)
The hole MS is in was dug up by themselves... Sony only took advantage of that (who wouldn't?).No, there is no "FTFY", don't attempt to put words in my mouth. I was very specific in talking about what has happened up until this point. The reason being because some people want to pretend that some of Sony's actions and decisions have somehow made the situation untenable for Microsoft from a financial perspective.
If you want to talk about fantasy and hypothetical situations that have not yet happened but could happen in the future then have at it, but the reality is that the only thing standing between what Sony does and what Microsoft does at the moment is decision making.
Talent can be acquired by money.
MS can just hire those people and pay them double of Sony salary.
MS needs better management that can utilize those talents.
Current management is rotten apple.
Make up your mind.
If MS managers are shit, but they can acquire talented managers by paying double the salary everyone else does, then why are their studio managers shit?
You already have the answer.MS managers are shit
You mean Switch, right? Because Switch is the actual ruler of Japan. PlayStation hasn't been a significant presence in Japan since the PS2 days. They don't need to acquire any, they basically do Playstation exclusives by default...
Soulless acquisition graphics vs organic acquisition graphics.
Really? Really??This is nonsense. It’s silly how Sony always gets a pass for buying studios because oh no they aren’t buying talent, they’re “cultivating”. Meanwhile when MS buys a developer and expands it with new teams of employees and new studios to work in, nah they are just buying talent.
But exactly what IP is MS buying for “outright success”? AFAIK the only sequels that have been released from a studio they bought Psychonauts 2 and Wasteland 3. Both were already in production long before the acquisitions and neither are huge franchises that scream “outright success”. The rest of the games released have been new IP.
Obsidian has released two small scale new IP and are working on a huge new IP.
Playground is working on MS’s own Fable IP.
InXile is rumored to be working on a big game for a MS IP.
Bethesda has released Redfall, Deathloop, HiFi, and Ghostwire. All new IP. Coming later this year is Starfield, another new IP.
Ninja Theory released a new IP Bleeding Edge, are working on another new IP, and a sequel to Hellblade, which we all know is a massively popular IP.
Your opinion is like.. the exact opposite of reality. In every Redfall thread you have people wishing Arkane had focused on already existing IP but instead they made something new.
Really? Really??
Do yourself a favor a look at at who Sony bought and who MS bought/tried to buy and count how many established IP each one would IMMEDIATELY be requiring (exclusively) through their purchase. And in the case of Insomniac most of their established IP was already a Sony exclusive.
This isn't that complicated bruh.
You say they have been helping these studios grow but how? We've heard hardly anything on a majority of these studios and their projects in development.Theres no doubt MS has acquired bigger studios lately. Sony acquired their big studios generations ago. But if Sony had the means to buy Bethesda, they would have.
But that doesn’t change the fact that the narrative you’re using is nonsense. MS has been helping these studios grow since they bought them.
If their sole intent was to buy IPs and use them then why are all of these studios making new IP

Oh and RARE was reduced to Xbox's version of Miis and now are "The pirate game" devs. This studio was once outputting multiple IP a generation and is now The Sea of Thieves guys....so much growth.
Ok sure..but I want to actually SEE all of this new IP. Oh and Starfield doesn't count since it was already in production long before the Xbox buyout.
