Where did they do that, share ?
I think one time there was a retweet or something. They didn't directly reply to the numbers provided though, just made a statement about it being the fastest selling Xbox.

Why keep ignoring my point that the why is meaningless? Better supply chain equaling greater sales is an absolute win with lasting impact. This isn't hard. What I'm saying is that who ever produces more will sale more, that's all there is to it because supply have not met demand. The "All these Xboxes" are mostly Series S that's easier to produce and thus more available for the past few months. PS5s are still sold out, thus any boasting of sale numbers are indicating a Supply problem NOT a lack of Consumer Demand incomparison to its competition. This is Basic Economics.
Yup. It means good value for the customer.
Not too many industries have the key product being break even or a loss leader. Typically every company wants to make profit off you from the very first purchase.
Even a variety store selling you a single Ju jube for a nickel would rather make 3 cents profit off you then give you a free bag of it hoping you come back another day for purchases.
If you really want to see giant losses on console hardware sales, check out the PS3 era profitability of Sony's gaming division. It basically wiped out all the profits the gaming division made during PS1 and PS2 eras. Even selling it at $599 had them losing money on it.That's why I've always found making a criticism out of the fact that MS hasn't historically turned a profit on the console units to be a weird flex. Like okay, you wanted them to charge you more?
I mean, ps3 + psvita sales or wii + nds sales or PC + steam handheld sales are separated.
But this is different. Cause they can just put a line between the letters ...

It was always silly for anyone to believe the XSS sold simply because it was available. Some people spent hundreds of dollars extra to scalpers to get a PS5 if that is what they really wanted. MS made the right move making two different SKUs for different audiences.Oh I agree. I just don't know if I agree with the general notion that people will pay hundreds for a video game console simply because it's the one that's available. I just can't see someone saying "I really want a PS5, but I can't find one so I guess I have to buy this Series console" or the other way around. Consoles are toys. It's not like there is a downside to waiting to buy why you want. But I guess for some people it's something they can't live without.
The Series S has proven itself to be a solid utility player and a good fit for a lot of people. I got one for free after I bought my PS5 and XSX and it's great for what it is. I spend a lot of time with it despite also having the more powerful boxes upstair so I can understand why the average person would like it.
Yeah I'm an enthusiast with an OLED 4k set with VRR. I prefer high end consoles but I still think the XSS is fantastic even if I don't want one personally. I accept not everyone cares about top of the line graphics and I'm glad that demographic has an option for a console too.Agreed. People need to understand that everything is relative and based on user cases. For example, people coming from a base One S to a Series S will see a difference.
I can say that a Series S is not for me. Now, for my four year old? Absolutely. Thinking of buying one for her actually and keeping it attached to my 1440p PC monitor.
Do all the systems you've named play the same game library like the XSX|S does? This isn't that complicated. The Series consoles are counted together because they play the same games.I mean, ps3 + psvita sales or wii + nds sales or PC + steam handheld sales are separated.
But this is different. Cause they can just put a line between the letters ...
When it comes to consoles, I think there's only a small number of people who will buy a system based on it being readily available. I think most know what they'll get and wait for it.It was always silly for anyone to believe the XSS sold simply because it was available. Anytime anyone questions MS or Xbox it becomes sniping and baiting? If you bothered to read the thread, which you didn’t do because you decided to just come in and snipe and bait people into arguments, you’d see the posts where it’s regularly in stock directly from Microsoft and I just checked and it still is:
Xbox Series X | Xbox
Discover the fastest, most powerful Xbox ever with the Xbox Series X.www.xbox.com
At least in Southern California, retail stores have never stocked either $500 console due to them releasing during COVID and they’ve always been online only. Only the $300 Switch and Series S seem to be stocked physically on store shelves.
That's not how the cross play agreement works. The cross play agreement works in a way where if playtime is more on playstation vs where they buy the mtxs then playstation gets a cut. This means epic store mobile or PC too. Nothing to do with xbox. There are some strange theories in here.
A key point that blows this nonsense up (and that is fact based) is that the Xbox user base very frequently outperforms PS sales wise (on a sales per console basis). This is so evident that Sony negotiated their cross-play agreement with bonuses based on Nintendo and Xbox customers outspending PS players on a per user basis, and received regular payouts, go figure. Sony wins more sales because of a more than 2:1 userbase advantage, not because their users are more frequent buyers. MS on the other hand, routinely over performs its console split on key western titles. There is less interest in some genres on Xbox, but that's been a thing from the beginning.
You have to get out of the enthusiast gamer/developer/gaming journalist bubble and move to the general audience. People don't drop $500 on hardware they don't intend to use, or even $300.

I have both XSX and PS5.
Estimates from your head, yeahMost estimates have it around 17m
Not even VGchartz (lol) has that number but somehow this dude has a number that is 2 million shy of the ps5 . If MS was anywhere close to catching the ps5(17 million) they would be shouting it from the rooftops.Estimates from your head, yeah
Yeah the people who have been thinking there was going to be another Sony 2:1 advantage are delusional, ever since the hardware strategy reveal and the zenimax acquisition It was very clear that Xbox is very competitive.Such a massive turnaround from last gen. No more 2:1 lead for Sony anymore.

if you are nervous now just wait till Cod goes Exclusive
This is why Jim Ryan is actually a good leader, and no I'm not being sarcastic
Sony has already proven they can make plot-driven IPs that sell like crazy and win numerous awards
If they can just have 1/3 of that same success with MP games Sony is going to reach new heights
It's a simply a case that this time they have made better products and services. PR is great but it means little if the product is bad or not competitive.Sales numbers are secondary, just the PR and messaging turnaround Series has had in its first two years compared to XBO is a massive victory for them.

2 million shy of ps5? Isn't it at 21.5?Not even VGchartz (lol) has that number but somehow this dude has a number that is 2 million shy of the ps5 . If MS was anywhere close to catching the ps5(17 million) they would be shouting it from the rooftops.
Yes, buddy.Yeah the people who have been thinking there was going to be another Sony 2:1 advantage are delusional, ever since the hardware strategy reveal and the zenimax acquisition It was very clear that Xbox is very competitive.
No. MS has launched two SKUs in the 360 era. IMO, this is a better implementation of launching two SKUs. The core 360 was a complete rip off in the memory card was of little use not long after launch. I was a manger of an Electronic Boutique and I had many customers unhappy when they had to come back and buy the HDD upgrade. Is this the first time where we have a company launch 2 SKUs of a current gen console at launch? Something tells me it won't be the last.

Google said 20.3 sold through. Never claimed anything to be "my numbers" but since we are assigning people motives. Where did you get your numbers?2 million shy of ps5? Isn't it at 21.5?
I don't think your sales numbers are accurate.
This isn't in the least bit true. Both Series X and S are in stock 24/7 on Amazon UK, Argos, GAME, and plenty of other retailers.Series X is in short supply here in the UK. Various retailers get stock then sell out. Much like the PS5.
That Amazon link defaults to a used system. None of the used or new systems there are sold by Amazon, just third party sellers, so it's not in stock at amazon.co.uk. The other ones seem ok though. This isn't in the least bit true. Both Series X and S are in stock 24/7 on Amazon UK, Argos, GAME, and plenty of other retailers.

PS5? Yeah, Amazon UK is running an invite-only system, while other retailers are issuing them bundled with a extra controllers, games, and headsets, to turn off scalpers.
Because the "Why" isn't meaninglessness, unless your aurguing consumer demand is irrelevant. Why keep ignoring my point that the why is meaningless? Better supply chain equaling greater sales is an absolute win with lasting impact.
I've seen quite a few PS5s at a retailer in my country. While this may true, I believe the real reason is because the PS5 is still impossible to find while you can get series S especially and X everywhere almost.
I also believe sales will shift towards Xbox when COD is on game pass. That will really boost the Xbox. Especially if the deal is closed and they can get COD MW2 in time for game pass
Yes, buddy.
We'll talk about it when all three consoles will have no supply restrictions at all.
We will definitely come back to this
yeah well you are lucky. in Canada / Ottawa here... nothing to be found. and I am guessing the US/Canada in general are about the same.I've seen quite a few PS5s at a retailer in my country.

Im going with this, MS ha sbeen ahead manufacturing their console. Where I live there are an abundance of series x/s'a in stock (not being bought btw)While this may true, I believe the real reason is because the PS5 is still impossible to find while you can get series S especially and X everywhere almost.

But I havent seend a ps5 in stock at a standard walmart, best buy etc for 3 months etc
It's very relevant in that both are in super high demand and the one with the better supply chain is has outsold its competitor for almost an entire year.Because the "Why" isn't meaninglessness, unless your aurguing consumer demand is irrelevant.
So they are in stock now. Have they been in stock 24/7 since launch? NoThis isn't in the least bit true. Both Series X and S are in stock 24/7 on Amazon UK, Argos, GAME, and plenty of other retailers.

I honestly don't get why people keep saying the x/s are not in the same gen. They have the same tools and features. The main difference is resolution. I don't know anyone with a series S that has said wow I wish I had an X or ps5 for those amazing graphics my S doesn't give me.
Also I'm in NYC there's no series X, S or Ps5 anywhere. There's literally never any stock.
Depend where you live though! my Local Target & Bestbuy have always stock of Series X.The people in this thread that are desperately trying to prove Xbox X or S is available everywhere (without considering the possibility its still supply constrained, just not as much as PS5...) as a attempt to allude to it not selling well, are well... pathetic themselves. Anecdotal evidence means jack shit and you all know it.
It's there today. That Amazon link defaults to a used system. None of the used or new systems there are sold by Amazon, just third party sellers, so it's not in stock at amazon.co.uk. The other ones seem ok though.

Series S has no issue with supply, but that can't be said for the X, though things are improving a lot for X/PS5.The people in this thread that are desperately trying to prove Xbox X or S is available everywhere (without considering the possibility its still supply constrained, just not as much as PS5...) as a attempt to allude to it not selling well, are well... pathetic themselves. By the time that happens MS will own Activision and Bethesda will be releasing GOTG candidates exclusively for Xbox. Not to mention Xbox's other studios will finally be releasing heavy hitters.Yes, buddy.
We'll talk about it when all three consoles will have no supply restrictions at all.

Is it? Because when I look at it the system they show is still the link to the same used warehouse deal as yesterday and all of the other listings are still third party listings. Maybe it sold out already. It's there today.
