Hmm well they did do a thread with suggestions for categories and that just wasn't one that kept coming up. Maybe people thought it would be there without suggesting it? This is a new thing that will be built on in the future using feedbackExactly the same for me too. Wanted to put HFW for best graphics and didn't see best graphics category at all. Went through the list thrice just to make sure I wasn't missing it.

Yeah I really liked the list format too. I'm very interested in not just no.1-3 but what say, gaf's 8th favourite game is, since I'm likely to know all about the top 3 but 8 might be a game I feel I need to take a look at after seeing so many people mention it. This is trying out a new thing to build on it so see how it goes

I want to nominate a few games I really liked that may or may not have been mentioned, I'm not reading all 5 pages.
I really enjoyed Tunic, thought it was great.
The Entropy Centre was an excellent puzzle game and one of my favorites of the year of any genre.
My most disappointing game of the year was Valkyrie Elysium. Just a bland game that felt like a cheap budget title from a no name developer.

I didn't see Shadowman Remastered as an option for remake/remaster of the year. I know it released on PC in 2021, but it didn't hit consoles until this year. It was the only remaster I played this year, haha.
