The Goal of the "Let's Watch Anime" thread is to bring together the anime community (even "casuals") to watch a lesser known anime series to discuss and share our reactions towards it at the same time. Participation in each episode is appreciated, but playing “catch-up” by watching multiple episodes is normal as everyone has different responsibilities/time to watch anime. Just don’t post on future episodes unspoilered! The more posting about the series and it's events, the more beneficial it is to everyone, so please post up on the good, the bad and the awful; We are all in this together! (no hiding lurkers) We will have a new show selected to watch every two/three weeks and the genre will vary greatly. The shows that will be selected will have met the below criteria:

- Any genre
- Lesser known titles (Not SAO, One Piece, Gintama, etc)
- Not already aired on Toonami/Adult Swim
- The shows should try to avoid outrageous and/or sexually offensive themes
- Shows could be good, bad or possibly trash; let's find out together
- Recommendations are always accepted for future viewing
- Let's have FUN with this together! Please participate in the review and discussion!

Episodes are set for viewing “one a day” so we can try to stay together.

Synopsis:
Riding the bus one day, Sakurakouji Sakura looks out the window to see people being burned alive with a blue fire and a boy her age who's unharmed and standing over the people.

She comes back to the site the next day and there are no corpses or evidence of any kind of murder, just a small fire. She then goes to class to find there's a new transfer student, Oogami Rei, who looks exactly like the boy she saw before and wears a black glove only on his left hand.

Oogami is a Code Breaker, one who "does not exist". He is a seemingly cold-blooded killer who follows the principle of "an eye for an eye", to "use evil against evil". Convinced that killing is not right, Sakurakouji sets out to stop him and penetrate his icy heart.

Episodes: 13
Duration: 24 min. per ep.
Rating: R - 17+ (violence & profanity)
Genres: Action, Comedy, School, Shounen, Super Power, Supernatural
Studios: Kinema Citrus

Review:
“After I finished watching it I must say, I did not waste my time with it! It's got a good visual quality, some nice characters (in my case I liked Ogami and Yuuki most) and nicely choreographed battle scenes.
The balance and the dynamic between Humor, Action and a little bit drama is done wonderfully and keeps the audiences attention, throughout the anime, "upright" ;)….”

*Required ToS Footnote and reminder*
Please see the warning on page 1 of the current seasonal Anime community OT, that still applies here. It's simple; Don't talk about it or promote it...

look at GAF-chan’s words of advice from the Anime community thread:

Mod Note:
This has been happening frequently enough lately that I just wanted to throw out a friendly reminder: solicitation, discussion, and linking of pirated material is prohibited. This includes illegal streams, torrents, aggregators, fansub & sub group discussion, links to websites containing entire anime soundtrack albums magically for free, etc. Use common sense here. Discussion of legal, ethical, and economic implications of piracy is okay.

Basically, the section on piracy & copyrighted material in the Terms of Service applies to anime as well.

This looks pretty edgy tbh, kinda like that BONES show we watched a while back with the Shakespeare.

Will try to watch it even if I really don't have the time atm. I wasn't even able to continue watching Mononoke! I liked the first two episodes of that though so I'll probably save it for a rainy day.

I swear, that banner... Mailbox needs to make a new one. Lol.

Well, that was certainly an interesting intro to our main two characters. Well, obviously, he doesn't kill her right now, but it appears he should be killing her.....

Episode 1
Made in 2012? For some reason, the art style seems older than that.

The lead female is being presented as a great fighter, so I'm guessing she'll be completely useless. Oh hey, the transfer student cliche being played completely straight. The dramatic music playing when the two leads left to talk in private was funny.

Halfway through, the episode is pretty boring. And of course, this is a story of a supposedly strong woman having to be saved by a man, though she is doing better than I expected. I didn't expect for the dog to die. Yes, gangsters, it's a great idea to fight the guy who instantly disintegrated one of you.

Given that the girl is in the opening, and the nature of these stories, obviously she'll turn out to be mysteriously immune to his abilities.

I'm expecting this series to be a straightforward shonen with some EDGE. At 12 episodes, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

Like I thought. For some reason, she is immune to his blue flames of death for some reason, which is why she survived his attack the night before. My guess is that is has to do something with her purity or whatever. He has the douchy streak, which is fun to watch, so this could be entertaining if they continue to have him torment her, since she has no idea he has no effect on her.

Episode 01

Just figured that I'd watch the dub for this so I won't have to pay as much attention to this, it's not really great but with the cheesy voice acting it works as some bad B-movie thing.

Some of the lines are legit funny though, between the super outdated "hip" way everone at school talks (They use words like "cray" unironically) and the occasional line that is comedic gold like, "Hey in English, I don't speak bitch" I'm having a decent time I guess.

Is this the number one anime when it comes to edgy animal abuse? I've seen JoJo but the Dog Soccer in this kinda takes the cake.

Ogami is a cold hearted killer when destroying that Yakuza office by himself, but at least he saved the dead dogs puppy. I don't think turning him into a kind hearted steward of justice is going to work for her, but she can keep trying, right? Looks like we have arrival Code:Breaker coming onto the scene now as well.

Eh, this isn't really grasping me. I think I'm gonna bail out.
I'm sorry CB
No worries, I think everyone else bailed to. I think we're done with Let's Watch Anime for awhile.

^ The previous one got plenty of attention. If anything, the history of this series of topics shows that one anime doing well or not doing well has no baring on the next anime.

Episode 2
I will say that I think the opening is pretty decent. Wait, Sakura's mother is wearing a school uniform? I vaguely recall seeing a post a while ago complaining about this. This attempt to mix comedic misunderstandings with Sakura dealing with Ogami being a psycho killer isn't working well, and is getting repetitive.

Jeez, they really dragged out the revelation that Sakura is immune to his flames. I figured it would be revealed at the start of the episode, and it seems like she still hasn't figured it out. Oh hey, another series where the female lead killed a bunch of people (apparently) and blocked the memory.

I have to say, this isn't grabbing me either. I'll just go ahead and jump to the final episode.

Episode 13
Guesses for how this series has developed: something something conspiracy, something Christian symbolism, destroy the world, tragic pasts, romance somehow.

The long-haired guy is the final villain and not the white haired guy? Unexpected. Ah, I somehow forgot to predict that MC having mysteriously strong power. Oh, I'm hearing something about Eden and the prime minister, so that hits the conspiracy and Christian symbolism guesses. And we're getting "even though we killed a bunch of people, we can't kill the actual mastermind!" stuff.

They're mentioning "The One Being Sought" as the real enemy, so I'm guessing this is finished in the OVA. I'm not going to watch that.

Haha, dang, I literally just paused the first episode at five seconds to see if this thread was still going.

Maybe I'll just... not. D:
