I kind of got that.It different kind of brain or think space for computer box. Apple computer box recently now Arm brain, no more intel. It very successful.
Computer box need stories to be written in different words for Arm brain to understand quickly but it still understand stories written for other brains with help but it take longer which mean slower flashing on light box.
Can someone explain in cavemen terms what ARM is and is it cool or uncool?
Is he trying to suggest they'll go with Nvidia? even though the documentation says AMD.From Alex Battaglia on the other forum.

And Nintendo with the Switch.ARM is a company which designs chips like CPU and GPU, they then license out those designs to companies like Apple who heavily modify and customize those designs to fit their product.
ARM's designs are usually super efficient and it's been a key factor in the growth of Apple's technology and design. I use Apple as an example as they're one of ARM's biggest customers.
Nah he's saying it's the equivalent to Nvidia...honestly everything here looks predictable beside using ARMIs he trying to suggest they'll go with Nvidia? even though the documentation says AMD.
You gotta believe!Always Online Mach2
Don't think so, he's implying that the tech MS is working on for the next-gen Xbox is comparable with what Nvidia currently has on the market (e.g. dlss with frame gen, super resolution, anti-lag/reflex, etc.)Is he trying to suggest they'll go with Nvidia? even though the documentation says AMD.

maybe it's CPU for background tasks UI/Net etcNo way they'll go ARM
Don't worry, they will always have the gentle embrace of the Cloud! No way they'll go ARM, losing backwards compatibility in the process.
This coudk kind of explain why they aren't doing the Pro version of they are expecting to switch architecture.Intriguing about the ARM64 stuff. And looking at the timescales, they already know NOW whether they are going with ARM64 or sticking with AMD x86-64.
But they couldn't get bg3 running slit screen on series sMicrosoft engineers were able to get PowerPC architecture (Xbox 360) games to run at improved frame-rates and native resolutions on x86 architecture (Xbox One - current).
If anyone can switch to ARM and continue the backwards compatibility it would be them.
Nvidia or qualcomm
Recompiled code not emulating PowerPC. It is essentially an x86 code.Microsoft engineers were able to get PowerPC architecture (Xbox 360) games to run at improved frame-rates and native resolutions on x86 architecture (Xbox One - current).

Is that Cloud-DRM proposal?
Sounds much more extensive than just Cloud DRM. I mean if you are talking about a digital only console in 2028, it'd be hard to argue that online only games would be that big of a hinderance.
30% more than SonySo how many Tittyflops can this system do?
Cloud Hybrid sounds like Power of the Cloud
All this is corporate speak, and I can't read those slides and see anything that means anything. This is like briefing your boss with nonsense words to make it look like you have an amazing plan.Purple forum. It should go up on gaming news outlets any minute now.
Edit: Already up on vgzcharts: https://www.vgchartz.com/article/458499/next-generation-xbox-early-details-have-leaked/
A Verge article on this specific leak is out in case you find the slides a bit too much on tech and corporate jargon: https://www.theverge.com/2023/9/19/23880138/microsoft-xbox-2028-hybrid-cloud-games-platformAll this is corporate speak, and I can't read those slides and see anything that means anything. ARM CPU with a 4080 level GPU.Wonder if nvidia is an option if they are contemplating using an arm cpu. Would help with the listed RT and ML/AI goals lol.
This is not true. ARM is just as performant as x86. It all depends on software and application/use case. The other advantage ARM has over x86 is power efficiency, x86 is a bloated architecture but still high performant but at a much higher power draw. Not only that, but ARM perfomance is terrible in comparison with x86.
Its lose the real porpuse of ARM with is target mobile/smartphone.
Going ARM is hardly going to drop power draw that much. Most of the power budget is allocated to the GPU. Both on console and PC.ARM is the future of computing , baffling if you think traditional CPU/GPU structures will be the future, it’s cheaper, smaller and more efficient.
Anyone screaming BC from behind thier monster 4090 rigs lacks basic reading comprehension , they are suggesting a cloud hybrid console, ARM for local, cloud for BC , personally find this quite exciting you’ll have tiny low power draw consoles vs monstrous watt guzzling PC/ consoles.
It will be a stark contrast to what we have now.

Would be interesting to see what that level hardware could do in a console, nintendo have done some solid work with that tegra soc.ARM CPU with a 4080 level GPU.
Couldn't ms sue the ftc for all of these confidential docs? This could cost them damages that are hard to quantify.
