Nintendo building new facility for in-house development

Which I'm definitely happy about. I'm just also happy about them strengthening in the West as well.

nope. found this recent article, they actually shut down 2 North American offices. So they're doing the opposite of Sony, expanding their home base development while reducing their footprints in North America

Those are Sales and Marketing offices being closed down as part of the consolidation in Redmond. Development wise, Nintendo acquired a new North America studio this year with Next Level Games so they are not reducing their development footprint in that continent.

that still doesn’t mean they’re expanding in NA. They acquired a studio with 100+ employees, they closed 2 offices with 100+ employees

They've gone from two development studios in NA to three, that is expansion. Them moving Marketing and Sales roles into Redmond and Vancouver does not change that.

according to wiki, NLG had been working exclusively with Nintendo since 2013. Then earlier this year the owners were looking to sell the company, that's when Nintendo stepped in

so it's not like Nintendo was looking to expand their workforce in NA.....why would they? labor in NA is far more expensive, and the employees are spoiled brat snowflakes

They did make all those developers Nintendo employees so they did expand their workforce.

You are right that the partnership with NLG was not new though. A more recent example of that is the partnership they have formed with MercurySteam.

On your overall point, I don't think Nintendo is the company you think it is. They have been committed to making gaming more inclusive for many years and have several Diversity and Inclusion initiatives in place.

They are not concerned about employees being "woke" or "snowflakes"

My point is that they have absolutely no plan to expand in the West in term of software development. They bought NLG because they have to
- NLG has been their exclusive partner since 2013
- NLG owners are looking to sell the company
- Luigi's Mansion 3 sold 10+ millions copies.

So Nintendo stepped in to buy the company to to save their franchise It's far cheaper to buy a Canadian company with only 100+ employees to save 1+ billion dollars franchise. Even then they had to shut down 2 North American offices (probably to compensate for the purchase)

Nintendo is a very conservative company, they will not go out of their way to be buying Western studios. Especially not in this current Western social climate

Right, Nintendo stepped in to buy a NLG because working with NLG has worked out quite well for them. Likewise working with MercurySteam has worked out well for them as well. Nintendo has benefitted from partnering with Western studios (both ones they own and ones they don't) and they will continue to do so. I don't think it is controversial to suggest that doing more of this could be good for them.

The current social climate has little to no impact on this. Why would a company looking to become more diverse and inclusive be concerned about their employees caring about diversity and inclusion? And from a gamer perspective what is there to be conferenced about? Luigi's Mansion 3 and Metroid Dread are both very good games.

Nintendo don't give two shits about Western 'diversity' 'inclusivity'

Nintendo is a Japanese company, Japan is a conservative society, if you can't accept who they are, where they come from, then for fuck sake, please stop preaching about 'diversity'

Nintendo has a diversity policy that it updated just last month. Just because you have something against diversity and inclusion doesn't mean Nintendo does.

To use their own words

The company does not have specific targets for the appointment of women, foreign nationals, and mid-careers to managerial positions. However, as a global company engaging in the entertainment business, which is characterized by increasingly diversifying customer needs and preferences, it is essential that we leverage the talents of a diverse workforce. Therefore, we are committed to respecting the personality and strengths of each and every employee, including employees from our overseas subsidiaries, and developing an environment where employees of diverse backgrounds can maximise their potential.

As part of these efforts, we are recruiting women and creating an environment in which women can build successful careers. We intend to increase the proportion of women in managerial positions from the current proportions in the Nintendo Group's principal offices globally (23.7% as of March 31, 2021) and Nintendo Co., Ltd in Japan (4.2% as of March 31, 2021

The software development process is more complex than hiring developers alone. While writing code is the most time-consuming part of the process, it's not the only one. There are dozens of other factors to consider, including the business idea, user journeys, look and feel, security, architecture, and adequate risk management. Once you've chosen a team of tech experts, you'll be ready to start planning and collaborating on the application. The first step is finding a tech team. While you can always hire a solo developer, a successful commercial project requires a team of developers. You'll need a technical team to handle this, but you can always rely on a team. A good project manager will have a thorough understanding of your product, and they'll have the expertise to communicate that to the software development team https://mlsdev.com/blog/71-development-of-mobile-apps-for-food-delivery-services. It's important to have a marketing strategist when choosing a development team. Your app development team is an important component of your company. Depending on the complexity of the project, you'll need several different types of specialists to create a successful mobile application. Some people are experts in the same area, while others specialize in a particular field. If you're not sure which specialist you need, ask your developer for references. They should be able to provide a good solution for your needs. Then, they'll build your app.
