it's at the fact that PS4 level hardware is expected to do 4K30fps with at least some level of raytracing

A console can do ray tracing and could also do 4K 30 fps… they are not and I don’t think anyone is expecting for them to be BOTH true statements at the same time. Even the fake rumour didn’t go derp like that.

Let me phrase that in PS5 terms

- 8K at 30 FPS seems doable

- Support for Ray Tracing (but not expected to be used much).

Nobody roamed the PS5 spec unveiling thinking they have ray tracing at 8k. I skipped 8k 120 fps bullshit because that’s just chipset output talk.
