Lou will probably be 12, and you have to escort him/her across the country to stop the B.T invasion from spreading over the newly rebuilt America.

I am looking forward to it, but I'd love if this game implemented more stealth/combat mechanics. I don't need action to be the focus of the game, but it's present enough that I think it could use some refining. Plus, we know this team is highly capable of great stealth/action mechanics, and there is room for them to be utilized.

I really loved death stranding, while some of the gameplay systems could have been prototyped more( the rewards system and difficulty), I liked the originality of the game.

Death Stranding was outstanding. A natural extension would be simply to double down on the darker elements and go for an aggressively scary vibe.
I get the feeling Kojima fell so in love with the collaborative and constructive elements of "strand game" concept, he backed off the horror elements. Maybe his concern was not to make it too gruelling to play in terms of constant threat, or simply he decided that given the whole power/growth dynamic would eventually blunt the threat, it wasn't worth going too hard in that direction.

The whole "ghost world" and overall funerary theme suggest a darker feel than the first game ultimately provides, in the end its more upbeat and meditative than survival horror-ish.

we saw Kojima was using Sony’s mo capping studio and proprietary equipment so we all know this was most likely happening. There were a lot of people that were fighting against the idea that just because he was using all those sony resources didn’t mean he was making another game for them lol

I don’t understand how there can be a second one … but I guess you shoe horn any explanation if you need to fit a sequel.
Lots of cool stuff they can do to expand the gameplay

I just don’t know how they continue the story in a meaningful way, the first game already had good closure

Spaaace. Gotta send BB to the mooon.

Fragile/Sam-character exposition/development?

Rebuild the world/colonize the solar system.

The story looks so weird, and the gameplay pretty dull at times that I haven't either.

Think it will be a PS Plus Essential experience for me.
Not played the game, but it never looked like the kinda game i would enjoy.

Some of the videos i watched, it looked rather boring to me, "lollipop_disappointed:

Perhaps if it comes to Sonys subscription service i will give it a go and see what the fuss is about.
Still didn't play DS1 "lollipop_disappointed:
I'm happy for people that enjoyed the first one, but I found it really boring and for the first time in my life I fell asleep playing a video game.
I read that its just a walking simulator? is that true?

The pacing after the opening slowed down to a crawl for 2 hours. Didn't pick it up again until late last year, and I LOVED it!

It's going to be a little more like Animal Crossing from what I'm hearing in the leaks.

After getting a foothold with his delivery business, he's able to hire some employees. Players will take on entirely new challenges like managing payroll, establishing supply chains, and maintaining worker morale through company holiday parties.

Kojima games have always been systems, build within systems, build within systems. We're going to spaaace!

Sorry if it turns out it doesn't pan out, lol :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Death Stranding was, if nothing else, a unique experience in the higher budget range of games.
But I have zero desire to play another one unless they make significant changes to gameplay.

I bought the first one days before the announcement of the directors cut.

I won't fall for that again.

It's a bit more than that. I enjoyed the community aspect of it, you'll see props and stuff from other users randomly showing up on your map to help you traverse better and the mechanics themselves are unique with how movement works and how its hindered. There's some stealth mechanics and taking care of your packages mechanics as well. That being said, it's a piece of shit in terms of fun. It's literally a job. Thats why it's very controversial. First half was interesting, cool but later half in the mountains going back and forth, will be quite the slog. Story was as you'd expect from Kojima, weird as shit but more...hollywodian now than his previous stuff and it worked quite well. Everyone plays well and the mystery of it all is again intriguing. It's what kept me going. Nice soundtrack as well, in the rare moments it plays. I'm certainly not in the 10/10 buffoons camp nor inthe WORST GAME EVER dumbasses camp either. I gave it a 7.

I don’t know. I really enjoyed the first one despite how repetitive it was but once I got to the end I couldn’t stand another second of it. Not sure how they can change this up so much that it doesn’t feel like the first.

Kinda similar for me too, after beating it I was still interested into the world and the pretty vistas but not into the Gameplay - I liked it but had enough of it.
Also glad that the Game had a proper ending/closing, something I did not expect from a KojiPro Game.

Fuck yeah, definitely day 1 on whatever platform it will be. Not sure how they can make a sequel to the story but I’ll let Kojima find out.

kojima is going to introduce a ball chafing meter in the new one and youll have to play a minigame every 20 minutes to apply various creams with different status buffs

Nooo, where is my horror game, Kojima??
Did Kojima ever say he was working on a horror game after Silent Hills was canned? Or are you talking about random internet rumors? Do you have any receipts of Kojima talking about it?

I think Death Stranding started off originally as Silent Hill, and they turned it into that after the Konami ordeal. Kojima pretty much confirmed that when someone mentioned it in the tweet.
No, Kojima was working on Silent Hills but Konami cancelled the game, humilliated and fired him and his team.

Then he created his new studio partnering with Sony to make Death Stranding. After it made its Director's Cut and the PC ports. Now is working on Death Stranding 2 and apparently in (with its new LA studio) an anime movie.

After being humilliated and fired I highly doubt he would ever want to do anything remotely related with Konami.

Must be very freeing writing a sequel to a game like this bc no matter what you write, nobody can complain that it doesn't accurately follow up the story bc the first game didn't even accurately follow up its own story.

See my post above, Kojima has been working on an unannounced horror game since 2019.

I know the backstory.

There was a tweet recently (I will try to find it) where he acknowledged someone saying the concept behind DS was originally Silent Hills, that is what made them so far along in pre-production and how the game came out so quickly compared to most from scratch to release in the AAA space. Obviously he did several major changes to make it his own after, but the whole strands and the "beached things", dualities, etc, were the direction he was going to go with SH.

I still think he may be working on it, there have been so many hints by him. And if not SH itself, a definite horror game.

People seem to be confused, this starting now points to his horror game almost wrapping. He’s not only stated he’s working on a horror title but he’s also released numerous mo-cap shots for the game he’s been secretly working on.

This game is a sore to play. I finished it only for the story but just walk for hours in an empty world is a pure torture.

phenomenal game but I don't think it needs a sequel, especially if Sam Porter is still the protagonist after how the story ends
