Vendor differences:
Negative impact is very rare on AMD GPUs, and if yes, it's like 2% slower, just one title)
It's a different story for NV, but could be addressed if games that do not benefit from BAR are blacklisted drivers. (curiously, there should already be such a blacklist, but it doesn't seem to work well)

For AMD users it makes sense to always keep it on.

AMD also seems to gain much more from it:

NOTE: Resizable BAR is the "official" name for this tech from PCIe spec. "SAM" is AMD's marketing bazinga.

Why not compare the 6800XT with the 3080? 6800 still decimates the 3080 here, but I was thinking comparisons should be...

6900XT vs 3090
6800XT vs 3080
6800 vs 3070
6700XT vs 3060

This isn't a comparison between GPUs, it's a comparison on the impact on RB implementation.
You do get higher performance with SAM on higher end AMD GPU's, it scales....it's only fair to compare the same tier of cards vs Nvidia for maximum performance divides......

Quick guess, they had already done a SAM ON/OFF comparison on the RX 6800 from AMD, and only did RTX 3080, instead of needing to do BOTH AMD/NVIDIA.
