PC Gamers beware of the RX 6500 XT 4GB. 4 lanes PCIe 3.0 + 4GB RAM = disaster.

This is a PCIe 4.0 capable card, but for those with PCIe 3.0 CPUs (all AMD APUs, AMD Ryzen 2000 CPUs and below, Intel Core 10 and below), it will only work at PCIe 3.0 speeds.
The problem with this card is that it only uses 4 lanes of PCI Express, when almost all videocards use 16 lanes. That puts a large bottleneck of communication speed between the CPU/RAM and the GPU, especially when using the PCIe 3.0 standard that works at half the speed of PCIe 4.0.

Hardware Unboxed tested a RX5500 XT on some modern games to emulate what to expect from the 6500XT and the results for 4GB + PCIe 3.0 are pretty damning.

Beware that some reviewers may only test the card on a PCIe 4.0 system, whereas many people buying the card to use as an upgrade or to replace a faulty card may use it on a PCIe 3.0 system.

In some games like Doom Eternal at 1080p the performance is halved when going from PCIe 4.0 to PCIe 3.0.
