I'm not trying to discredit your story, but I don't get this. I have played Resident Evil 4 so many times (I'm probably one of that game's biggest fans on this forum), reinstalled it several times after storage upgrades, and even installed the latest "Remaster/HD" mods. And none of those times, have I ever had an issue with installing or running the game.My only concern with PC gaming is that I often find myself troubleshooting and forum browsing for hours on end just to get a simple game to work. It recently took me almost a whole day to get RE4 running at the right resolution and without my screen being off-center. And I got my "fix" from a 5 year old forum post with no replies.
My Xbox downloads updates while it's turned off, and makes sure everything works with the flick of a switch. Literal plug and play. It simply always works.
I keep reading people that say that they do nothing but mess with settings because PC supposedly doesn't work out of the box. Based on my own personal experience, I would say that's a myth. Every game I've played has worked out of the box, and only about 2 or 3 I had to change PC settings (e.g., Grand Theft Auto V didn't initially have audio) that took like 30 seconds to Google.
