Another sad reminder as RDR2 is probably approaching 55-60m in sales, that Take2/R* is giving the fans a big FU for a current-gen version/60fps patch.

Looks like Resident Evil Village and GT7 aren’t moving that much for PSVR2.

very possibly the $70 price tag. But it’s clear it needs more compelling software.

Gran Turismo is on both the US and EU charts...

Resident Evil 7 was as well, but would make sense for it to dip with people playing RE4

Even if it was top selling PS5 title it wouldn't be on the PSVR2 list.

But you already knew that.

To explain it to you like you’re 5:

If it was being purchased by lots of PSVR2 owners as THE killer app for VR2, it would count as a PS5 download and should rank higher on the PS5 list.

Not once have I said it should be on the PSVR2 list.

Understand now?

There are 40+ million PS5s out there. Conventional gaming will always pull high numbers when pitted on the same list if people are now buying GT7 just for VR (a much smaller demographic).

PSVR2 was only sold via Sony Direct, and they just recently started going to box stores as of the past week or so. Early adopters more than likely already had the game and the free update. And yes, it IS a killer app for VR, and there is no going back to 2D racing after playing it in VR.

You are trying to extrapolate some weird ass "gotcha" with very limited info and dancing around logic.

Easy enough to understand why RE Village isn’t there. Chart doesn’t count upgrades and many people already had it from the PS4 days.

You are trying way too hard.

And you’re chasing shadows that aren’t there. I picked up a PSVR2 day one from PlayStation Direct myself. Day one PSVR 1 purchaser too.
I’m the last person who would want VR to fail or struggle.

How is “I don’t think GT7 is cutting it for most people as the VR killer app, and i think it’s too pricey at $70” translate to an attempt at a ‘gotcha’?

I wish you people were this chatty when I asked this question about GT7.

Fair point about considering the install base wrt to chart position on PS5 software downloads. Very likely PSVR2 might be the reason it’s charting this far from release.

I thought there were like 50+ psvr2 games coming to it? The only exclusive I've even heard about was the Horizon game. Is it literally just all pc/quest ports? lol

We should get a lot more information at the May Showcase. Sony’s going hard with this headset for this cycle, so very likely we see more first party releases.

VR modes for AAA games will also be a key way to get titles. I’ll eat my hat if Bloober’s Silent Hill game doesn’t have a VR mode.

list is rigged, look at ps4 games. Tlou 2 at #1?
Everyone told me that game is hot garbage and 2 times refunded for every sale they made.
Nice try but your propaganda doesnt work on me.

GT7 probably sold more at the bottom of the PS5 chart than #1 on PSVR2 chart.

It will be interesting to see updated numbers for TLOU2. We will likely get updated numbers at the PS showcase when they announce TLOU factions.

That sounds about right. In Jan, they told us that TLOU series had sold 37M units. I think TLOU II was at 12-13M units and TLOU I was at 24-25M units.
yeah the 37 mil end of 2022 breakdown, roughly:

TLOU PS3 - ~8 million (lifetime)
TLOUR PS4 - ~15 million (was 12 in 2019)
Part II - ~12 million (was 10 in june 2022)
Part I - ~2 million (first 4 months )

by now the franchise has definitely sold another 3+ million from the show sales bump and is over 40 million
and it will be around 41-45 million by its 10 year anniversary in june

Probably more than 3+ mil by now I'd say. Show boost had 3 game SKUs charting like mad all over the world.

Plus the PC release would have been easily 1 mil+ of sales despite the poor condition it released in.

I like how GTA V has been in like the top 10 of every sales chart for basically the past 10 years and nobody blinks an eye at it anymore. Like it's just normal.
