PlayStation VR2 |OT| I heard it has a single cable. Is this true?

Finished Red Matter 2 (even platinumed lol, very easy plat). Realy enjoyed, amazing vr graphics for an indie studio (to be fair even for aaa studio as its maybe not most complex/detailed game but sharpest psvr2 title also materials reflectiveness done very nicely). Liked mistery atmosphere with spooky music, thx to narration another room with puzzles wasnt usually that laborious like in many other puzzle games (even imo in portal 1/2). Things I think could be done better is interface. I constantly had to change mode to scanning then grap mode and very often flash mode activated even I didnt want it. Other bigger problem was variety of gameplay. Started to get repetitive after few hours. Its also not longest game (tough I had to spent some time on one of the last puzzle and has 9h so not that bad but for sure some will complete it around 6h). For me its 3rd best currently available psvr2 game after GT7 and Village. 8.5/10

3rd best is a great review from you. I'm liking what I'm reading more and more about Red Matter 2.

Yeah, Red Matter 2 is pretty much a no-brainer, even if you don't enjoy the puzzle gameplay too much it's fun to move around the space stations and play with the objects. Everything looks great for the most part, and hard to imagine regretting the purchase when it shows off the hardware as it does.

So... finally finished Village. I want more! Such an outstanding experience, marvelous game albeit the final part is over the top lmao, ala basically any Resident Evil. Highly recommended to everyone. Now I will focus on Red Matter 2 and it's razor sharp image.

Really makes you excited for RE4 Remake in VR doesn't it? I feel like the boss fights in Village were a lot of fun in VR and RE4's bosses are way better than Village, so it'll be a real treat when that makes its way over to VR. Plus it's more an action game and you get support and feel less scared, should just be a great time.

7th fucking Guest. in VR. It's like I can relive my childhood games now. Along with a Vampire game too, not sure if that one is Quest only, but 7th Guest will be PS VR2. Can't wait to watch the trailers all later, but D4 is tonight, so conflicted! Maybe there'll be a queue haha.

Man, more games announced today? 🤩 Will watch the trailers for Bullestorm, 7th Guest and Vampire later today. Am I going crazy or we got more announcements today than in the PS Showcase? 😅 Bullestorm is the most exciting game incoming, imo. Oh wait, there is also Resident Evil 4 in the horizon!

There's still somebody who remembers games like Seventh Guest??

Anyway, is it really coming to VR? Originally it was totally prerendered with one of the first uses of ray tracing. I guess in real time it will not yet reach that level of rendering, but it would be nice to be able to full explore it freely.

I remember The 7th Guest...
I still have the CDs in the double case, sadly I lost the cardboard box.
It was revolutionary when it released!

Edit: Found the discs! 🙂

Nice! Now load it up in ScummVM and let the memories return haha. Too bad no one has CD/DVD/Bluray drives anymore probably.

Yeah lol. I have no cd/DVD drive in my pc.
I'll wait for the psvr2 version, even if it's not going for realistic graphics and the same horror mood.
Hopefully they'll include the maze part, it was really spooky.

Never played The 7th Guest and the trailer didn't hold my attention, but your reactions are so positive that I will keep an eye on the game!

It's just one of those bad games you played as a kid but enjoyed anyway, sorta like Stonekeep or Willy Bemish or Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.

It wasn't a bad game. It had limitations because of the hardware limitations of the time, but the puzzles were, most of them, good and the story was interesting.

7th guest are you fucking kidding me lol. I will try it!

I realized it was steam last year and played it for the first time since I was 13 or whatever. Somehow I had remembered the game in near perfect detail so it was weird playing it and feeling like it had not been that long.

I have a portable cd/dvd drive, usb 3.0. They cost like $20. You never know when they come in handy :)

Found the boxed version of Dyschronia for 25€ on Amazon (versus 60 if you buy every épisode from the store) and decided to give it a go.
Will try it tomorrow.

Well, the PSVR2 went back to the shop for a refund today. I considered hanging on to it, but it’s just wouldn’t have been worth paying so much for a device that would go long stretches gathering dust.

It has some good experiences in there, and I am not sure I’ll enjoy a racing game in the same way again as GT7 in VR. But at the end of the day I just know I wouldn’t get the use out of it. Back to Tears of the Kingdom now and I’m good with my decision.

Yeah mine is gathering dust too, the novelty has worn off, Sony need to bring something to drag me back in although there are some upcoming 3rd party games I’m keeping an eye on. Playing Zelda and Diablo In the meantime,

I have no idea how you do. I still have a shit ton of games to play on PSVR2 and in the next one/two months we are gonna have quite a few bangers: Synapse, Wanderer, Hubris, C-Smash, Crossfire Sierra Squad just to name the biggest ones.

I hope you were not expecting AAA games to release on a monthly basis, cause that was never going to happen with a niche market like VR.

But I understand where you are coming from, and Sony is clearly not reassuring regarding their first party input.

At least you tried it and know what you're talking about as opposed to people who never used it and say it's a garbage product doomed to fail 🙂

Indeed, though I must say I'm not freaking out for now simply because the first party was almost completely absent from the last showcase :messenger_grinning_sweat: which means I still have some faith Sony have some VR games incoming, like the rumored Twisted Metal and Killzone.

Looking forward to see more. It's the most interesting VR game imo.
Agree man, it looks so cool and fun!

Tbh there are many games that I look forward to this year. Grilmord, Undead Citadel, Journey to Foundation, Behemoth, Pixel Ripped, Project Wingman, Foglands, Vampire The Masquerade etc...

And damn, I already bought 24 games. After 3 months thats quite a number.

I really think Jim Ryan doesnt give a damn about PSVR2, but he will do the minimum not to make us angry. I expect maybe 5 big games from Sony first party and some PSVR1 ports, not muche more.

The good games will come from AA and indies, with an occasional big title.

Yeah, I guess it's maybe just a little assuring that the conference may have actually been better for VR than the regular PS5, not sure. But at best, it sucked for both (as it went down as one of the worst conferences of all time), so there's hope.

So, Dyschronia is actually pretty good! Not saying this is a 9/10 or anything but its a really intriguing visual novel with good storytelling and world building.

The introduction, OST and overall aesthetics is really reminiscent of Atlus games, and you can even sense a bit of Nier here and there. Good stuff if you like this kind of japanese games.

The gameplay is logically quite simple but the game really tries to involve the player with different gameplay phases, and you also have a few small areas to "explore" (dont expect much to find or to do, tho)

If you liked games like Danganronpa, Phoenix Wright and other japanese murder mystery games, you should like it.

I am weak... the Horizon bundle just went up on the Dell.com website and i had some points there (That basically took care of sales tax plus a bit extra) so i snagged one. What is the best 3rd party charging base for this thing so far? Is there a list of games from PSVR1 that have a free/cheap upgrade? Need to go back and read the OT i guess haha. I eventually never even bothered with the PSVR because it was a pain using the camera etc, hoping this one will get more use for the price. OH also can we watch porn with this? I didnt bother to google that before buying... haha

Synapse looks so cool.

In fact, so much so that it is one of those rare VR games that I hope also get a flat version. Likely won't play the same, of course, because of the way its "jedi" powers are designed, but would be fun nevertheless.

The art style is also just ... chef's kiss.

I use this 3rd party option:

Works fine, it does what it needs to do lol. It doesn't come with a plug charger, so I used a spare one I had (from a old cellphone). Also, the green lights are so strong dunno why they did that :messenger_tears_of_joy:
And no, you can't watch porn on this one :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Is walkabout mini golf cross platform multiplayer with quest 2?
Yep, full crossplay:

And more of Synapse, this time from Beardo Banjo:

Damn Synapse looks really, really good. I only hope there are a few different biomes in the game, as they only showed one for now.

On another topic, playstation blog mentionned a 28th June release date for Crossfire Sierra Squad and a PSVR2 version for Until You Fall, a good sword fight roguelite that was free on PS+ with PSVR1. Lets hope for a nice ugrade path.
