So I'm looking through the specs and it sounds kinda neat:

Internal Rumble Feature and Shock Sensor adding more immersive dimensions to hand-held gaming. (Whoa!)

Built-in Infrared Port allowing for great multiplayer action.

Sounds like the granddaddy of the Nintendo DS! It's cartridge based also. Was this product ever released in North America?

It was definitely available retail, just rilly-rilly limited as far as I could tell. There was a single Toys-r-Us that had stacks and stacks of them. I held it in my hot little hands several times, but could never pony up the $40.

If you really want one they are discounted all the way down to $9.95 on the pokemon center website www.pokemoncenter.com

Edit: Also note that the complete sets come with 3 extra games and a carrying case and cost THE SAME as the regular version.

Edit 2: Apprently only the Blue one has the whole set for $10.

Pokemon Channel, the kinda-sorta 'game' that came out for Cube last year, has several PokeMini games emulated in it as well. Unfortunately the rumors are true, they're quite awful.
