Best world seems insulting to RE8 or Sable (choosing games from the rest of the list), I found that part of Psychonauts 2 one of the most disappointing.

I was exploring the woods and when I saw the limits of it, it was quite downheartening after such a long wait. I wanted more things like the hidden cave but that's literally a one off.

GotY it is not for me, a great game throughout, achieving or bordering on amazing status at various points but masterpiece? The first game is closer to that status imo even with its 15 year old game jank.

I don't understand the over hype for Psy 2, dgmw it's really great! It's just not what I expected after a million year development.

absolutely deserved. so much care and effort put into the dialogue and characters. even the most redundant things are fully animated and a joy to watch. and the level design is gorgeous and is full of creativity. its through and through a master piece.

Great game. I look at the list of games that have won GOTY this year and I think they all really make a good case for the award. Psychonauts 2 is no different.

DF deserves it. Great game. I prefer these smaller exportable areas to everything open world or just too big

World doesn't just mean explorable space, I think it also means like, characters, lore, art design, all of that. World-building.

Not for me sorry. Good game but the controls aren’t as tight as something like Ratchet or Mario. Although story wise it’s deeper than both of those games. Looked beautiful though.

I didn't say it did, I just didn't want to write screeds of negativity about everything I didn't like about it, "the limits of it" was referencing the terms you've used. All those things you mentioned are done way better in RE8 imo. P2 felt behind in terms of rendering and graphics, even with a stylised look, it wasn't particularly wowing to me most of the time even thought I could tell they made a lot of effort.

It always felt just short of having the magic for me, everything was so underdeveloped, I wished they had cut back on the amount of characters/variety and increased the depth of things if they didn't have time/money/people to do both.

Kids Game?

R&C:RA was the most kid friendly entry of the entire series. It was saccharine and totally harmless compared to previous entries which had at least a bit of an edge. It's no coincidence this was the first R&C game that didn't have a double entendre in the title.

I played this for an hour and was bored as hell. Does it get better later on?
I read many post saying they did not enjoy the first level as the game kept taking away control for a cut scene.
The game does open up after the Hollis casino level and I felt the game stopped hand holding and let you just play.
