Crossplay and cross-progression between Rainbow Six Siege players on PC, Stadia, and Luna platforms was enabled in June 2021, with Ubisoft initially shooting to add Xbox and PlayStation users to this list by early 2022. Despite delays extending this deadline by a considerable amount, Ubisoft has finally given players an ultimatum for when console players will be able to login to their account across platforms and team up with friends across an array of console devices. This good news comes mere months after Rainbow Six Siege was finally brought to mobile.

This date, as shown in the Rainbow Six Siege Year 7 Season 4 reveal, is December 6, 2022. Rainbow Six Siege has needed crossplay for a long time, and from this date console players will finally be able to play alongside console users on other platforms, voice chat included. Not only this, but user account data will also now be moved to the cloud, meaning console players can play Rainbow Six Siege on a range of devices such as the Xbox One and Playstation 5, all using the same account.

This is a big step forward in making Rainbow Six Siege more accessible to console players, though it should still be noted that intentional matchmaking restraints have separated console players and PC/Luna users into two different pools due to the entirely different levels of difficulty associated with the two styles of play. Alongside these changes to cross-progression and crossplay for console users, year 7, season 4 of Rainbow Six Siege also introduces a new Operator and map, alongside revamps to the battle pass, anti-cheat, and ranked system. Rainbow Six Siege will also look to discourage intentional trolling by the means of a new reputation system.
