She says LESS reprehensible things, to which I have to remind others that people who make their living beating people into bloody pulps usually have a pretty skewed sense of social behaviors. But yes, Rousey sticks her foot in her mouth about 80% less often than the average MMA fighter or professional boxer, which makes her more openly marketable to other people, especially when most of those people don't even watch her fights.

Less perhaps than her MMA peers but she still has said enough reprehensible things that tarnish her ability to ever be a face of a family friendly brand, especially a Disney one.

There is no coming back from her anti-Obama rants and her support of conspiracy theories about Sandy Hook for something like Marvel/Disney.

Keep in mind, I also think that Rousey is a terrible fit for Ms. Marvel and most people who suggest she should play her see a white woman with spikable blonde hair and say "yup, that's enough, cast it". But even with all of the dumb shit she's said, her face will likely be on just as many backpacks and lunch boxes as this year's Disney franchises.

If WB can get away with Wonder Model who can't act (May very well be because most all female action movie stars who CAN act and are proven to be able to open a movie are pretty much ScarJo, JLaw and Zoey) then Marvel can hire a woman whose job is partly to "act like a bad ass".

Could be like 8 Mile or Drax in that you can just build the character around the actor's persona. Don't need a great actor, just need the project to take the actor into consideration. Carol being as interesting as a stack of bricks sure doesn't hurt things when largely changing up her on screen persona.
