Skywind is a total recreation of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, built from the ground up in the more modern Skyrim: Special Edition engine.

Skywind sheds the shackles of the older game, bringing modern graphics, assets, and sounds, a full cast of voice actors and all the benefits of fifteen years of gaming improvements, while preserving the incredible characters, locations, and quests with which Morrowind charmed the world all those years ago.

Looks like morrowind but plays like skyrim, as expected which is a good thing, however, it is hard to be excited for something that won’t be coming out in the next 2 or 3 years anyway.

They are making a game with late 90‘s tech into a ~2010 tech game

It's more of a remake .not just conversion.theyr adding new assets quests voices

The reason being the Anniversary or the VR edition is still getting constant updates along with stuff on Creation Club.

This means there's no stable version for mods as an update may break a mod especially for mods as huge as these.

Found this video showing how the Mawia Necro quest looks like in the original Morrowind. They really fleshed it out with scripting, voice acting and environmental storytelling.
