Qatar should never have been granted the World Cup, mainly due to their absolutely abhorrent treatment of labor; the heat and unreasonable play conditions are just secondary issues that could be worked around if only they didn't consider their workforce to be disposable.

Sepp Blatter faces clamour to quit over racism row

Fifa president Sepp Blatter is facing a chorus of criticism as players, managers, politicians and anti-racism campaigners called on him to step down over his suggestion that racist abuse on the pitch could be settled with a handshake.

The sports minister, Hugh Robertson, and the chief executive of the Professional Footballers' Association, Gordon Taylor, urged Blatter to resign after he suggested there was no racism in football and that players subjected to abuse should say "this is a game" and shake hands afterwards.

And they aren't mentioning the labor practices, yet.

They don't want to play that card unless they have to, because saying "We are pulling out because of slave labor" means that preceding that, you were supporting slave labor. You don't want slavery to not be mentioned in reference to your brand.
