Yeah, but there were apparently some licensing problems regarding him. (Something about a Japanese television station, IIRC)

Must be co-owned.

I still have my poster up from CGoH in my pad. Never taking it down, Ken the Eagle constantly pointing and laughing at me is too epic.

So many good memories of TvC though. <3 TvC for life :)

Also TvC had the best engine because you could actually COMBO INTO GRAPPLES. WHY THE HELL IS THIS NOT IN MVC3??

Cause Alex is awesome like that.

Also kinda sad that She Hulk's Taking Out the Trash isn't an air super, otherwise it'd be awesome like Ippatsuman's.

Nope, that was Shurato.

Actually there was talk of adding Nurse Witch Komugi and Phoenix Wright as DLC, but I guess they didn't want to go through the trouble...

I have a feeling Komugi would play like a loli Taskmaster whose attacks mimic various Tatsunoko heroes.

Always wanted to get this game but never got around to it but the recent Evo rekindled my interest in fighting games so here I am with a few questions:

Compared to MvC3 how is the learning curve?

Aside from the arcade stick, what's the best controller to play this game? I have a bunch of 360 TEs and I'm not sure I want to add 2 more sticks just to play this game unless they are cheap.

TvC is the basis of MvC3's engine. With that said, while MvC3 has many "bounces" TvC has many "staggers".

The TvC stick should be cheap by now. I bought another one for £20 with free shipping from amazon.co.uk for future modding projects.

I was digging up some development info on CGoH. Anyone here can read this part? I don't want to use a machine translator. :(

The rest is on Dengeki for those interested.

Edit, thanks duckroll:
Niitsuma says that Eighting took on the job from early 2007, but before that internally in Capcom they were already talking about making a game with Tatsunoko characters from mid-2006.

When Capcom decided to return to the fighting genre, he and Ono decided that both of them would launch two projects together, and the plan was that each person would work exclusively on their own game towards the mid-point of development.

Unfortunately for him though, because SF4 was a much larger scale project, he had to work on Street Fighter 4 all the way until the arcade version was done.

I'm going to go ahead and say probably not.

Is there any reason why it wouldn't? I know Tats isn't a huge name in North America for a mass audience but this surely could work as a digital download.

The licensing nightmare surrounding the game would almost certainly preclude negotiating for ports. The western version of the game was a miracle in and of itself.

However, if there's a TVC2, it'd almost certainly be native to the big boy consoles and multiplatform.

I would have assumed that when they sorted out licensing for NA that would have stuck for an eventual release on PS3/360. I guess not. I'd be happy with a port of the same game.

Honestly, being able to produce TvC2 itself is a miracle.

I wonder what's Capcom doing with the license.
