I loved the game(s) and nostalgia, but it mostly made me just want to play Shredder's Revenge again with the improved controls and abilities. I'm super thankful to have both!

2022: What a year to be a TMNT fan! 🧡 ❤️ 💜 💙

It's my game of the year so far! Pure nostalgia for sure but, it takes me back to a time when gaming was fun and not full of bullshit. It's just simple fun and that's what videogames should ALWAYS be about.
Cue the term; "Old is gold" ! ....One video on Youtube talks about why you shouldn't buy the collection due to the bad online service...and how it is a deal-breaker...

If you were getting just 1 for couch co-op, would you go with the collection or shredder's revenge?

Aww man, that's a hard choice- Both are great! ❤️

You'll possibly get more playtime from the Cowabunga Collection...especially if you like TMNT Tournament Fighters. My wish is that the Collection came out before Shredder's Revenge, as SR really did improve the controls and abilities a lot, the extra characters are great, and the smooth six-player easy drop in or out online and offline play is FANTASTIC...so I missed those things when playing the older titles.

Personally, I highly prefer Shredder's Revenge and I know I'll be playing it for years, but it's good to have Cowabunga Collection for its rich history. :)

It's not THAT hard. Use Donatello and Leo for the serious combat. Save the other two for stuff like the dam. Ralph is basically cannon fodder.

Ok, I take it back, this game DOES get nasty in the later levels. Particularly the caves. I'm very grateful for the rewind feature here. 12 year old me must have been a gaming beast to beat this legitimately.

My copy of the game came through yesterday ...but I am in no hurry to rip it open as I got plenty to get through, I've yet to complete Shredders Revenge for the first time!

Apologies if already posted , here is a tip for those Achievement/Trophy hunters who want the 100% completion.

If you are getting frustrated with any of the games like the NES game or any other, they are not that difficult tbh but anyway

Select “Watch” and fast forward to the last boss, wait until they are nearly depleted and stsrt playing, quickly save and quit. Then start the game again and load your save, defeat the boss. Achievement should pop shortly after.
