The individual who interrupted our Game of the Year moment has been arrested.

The only shit here is your ignorance of trespassing laws.
This would be no different to running onto a field at a baseball game or onto the court at a Basketball game.
As per public records that is usually a night in jail and a trespass. (Except New York has bigger penalties due to a Calvin Klein law.
At WWE events you are held in the back until the police arrive and then a trespass is filed.
The obviously did not arrest due to age.

I do think people are going stupidly overboard with some of it, but to be honest the kid has a history of these stunts and with how gaming reddit and other gaming chats have made some kind of hero out of this and are flooding the net with memes it is only going to make people copy, and he will be propped up by troll youtubers and streamers.
The kid knew what he was doing, I am just more cranky I think that he could have used that mic for so many positive things. He could have gone with Taiwan like he has in the past, he could go with so many other causes and instead went with a weak assed dog whistle for the lulz.
I just wish we could go back to the days of streaking instead of this lame just a prank bro stuff. In the 80s we had bouncing titties and some full bush not this Bill Clinton rabbi gibberish.

Right? Or that one lady that would run onto baseball fields to kiss players.

It is different.

This created 100x more publicity for the VGAs than the show itself. Geoff should be happy. Same goes for Miyazaki; now more people know that Elden Ring won GotY than they would’ve otherwise. It’s not like the kid publicly insulted Miyazaki or something; I don’t understand why some people are so cranky over this.

The rewards will be remembered for some drizzle shit sneaking up on stage and spouting dumb shit than any of the awards or performances. It is very rude to Miyazaki and everyone else that was on stage. It also will empower copy cats and other garbage.
It is embarrassing how people are so willing to handwave stupidity with "uh huh huh it was funny huh huh".

this. i mean most of the hardcore gamers I know don't give a shit about VGA's. It's a niche within a niche.

Especially when the show was netting that streaming view count in the hundred thousands on multiple channels. It doesn't need that kind of embarrassing "publicity" or humor.

The problem here is not about what he said, but rather that it could have been a maniac with a knife that barged into the TGA. And that could have been a disaster. So yes, Geoff should improve the security.

Now wait for some Indie developer making a “Bill Clinton Boy” game where you have to sneak up onto different stages, GooseGame style.

You have to feel sorry for Miyazaki. His moment robbed by an arsehole. We should be talking about his games and not some wanker looking for his 15 minutes.

I hope there is better vetting on guests next year so these types of tools are not allowed a shot to cause physical damage. It could have been alot worse
To be fair, the whole event is a marketing one, and more people are talking about Elden Ring because of this guy (frankly, nobody's really interested in the awards, the trailers are the stars).

Also, to be fair, they'd accepted the award and were starting to walk off, they'd started playing the music, etc. So he got his full moment.

can someone explain like I'm 5 why he said reformed orthodox rabbi Bill Clinton cause I feel like I am well behind the internet meme culture train.

Dude looks like the kind of guy that sits on meta critic creating 50 accounts to reviewbomb games tbh. That hair style and coat scream 'shcool shooter' lol.

I wouldn't look for logic regarding this particular scenario.

Why didn't the guys accepting the award not say something? Obviously he wasn't involved in making the game. Were they wayyy drunk?
They probably thought he was some escort/helper or some shit. So did security. This kind of thing happen all the time. Not everybody at the right place can keep track of who's who. And it leads to a few minutes of confusion which is when the kid 'attacked'. I don't get the ruckus. Give him some light fine and let him off.
