The Last Jedi released 3 years ago today...

A long time ago (3 years), in a galaxy far far away... Rian Johnsen released the worst movie ever made to the world

Fuck Rose. Fuck everything about this movie. Fuck Rian Johnson. Fuck Kathleen Kennedy

The Star Wars Holiday special is Citizen Kane (or Freddy Got Fingered in my world) compared to The Last Jedi.

Enjoy this instead.

Happy Life Day assholes!

Easily the best Star Wars movie outside of the OT, and probably the best one overall. I hope Rian still gets the opportunity to do more work with the franchise because it's clear he cares about it deeply and is really good with it.
Good joke. You almost had me there.

lol the movie that destroyed SW. everything about the Last Jedi is trash.

Luke as the first force casualty ever will never not be the most fucking lame thing ever imagined. apparently it does take physical effort now? fuck you Yoda, you were wrong about size. ah yes now the force is literally tied to your life essence, paving the way for Rey's kiss to bring Kylo back to life. congrats on fucking the force and also enabling Reylos everywhere Rian.

Sith and Jedi as the same thing, great, whataboutism is now in Star Wars. "oh the Jedi were shit" i guess everyone is ignoring the deaths of billions directly caused by the sith. cool do u think Churchill was the same as Hitler? no. fuck moral relativism.

Kylo Ren fucking nerfed into a do nothing shit who can't even use the force anymore and loses at everything and yet Rian's fanboys insist movie three would have rested entirely on this loser's shoulders as Main Villain Who Constantly Gets Owned And Nobody Takes Seriously. lol. no.

still cant believe they handed the most important movie in a trilogy to a person who doesn't give a shit about worldbuilding.

perhaps it was just a test to see if SW fans will really buy anything. i guess in one way they proved that theory true.

no future for them. look at the 11 SW tv shows they announced, not a single one takes place in ST era.

way to go.

Not a joke. I doubt there will ever be another Star Wars movie as good as The Last Jedi and that's disappointing. Most of the new Star Wars stuff outside of The Rise of Skywalker has been great but nothing even touches TLJ. It gives Star Wars a meaning beyond itself.
I really can't tell if you're serious or not. Bravo.

The only time in my life I've checked my watch during a movie hoping it would be over soon.
It wasn't even bad in an entertaining way.
I saw Rollerball in the theater for christ's sake and at least that had a peak, Rebecca Romain, to look at.

I don't know how to make it more clear that I'm not joking. I know it's cool to hate on for reasons but I don't know how any reasonable person can say it's not the most well-made Star Wars film by a mile.
I think #Phonepunk# #Phonepunk# hit on every aspect of why it's not film...it's good old 21st-Century commercial trash. Cinema (to me) died toward the end of the 20th century in terms of quality, originality, and being an art. Star Wars would have been complete with just the first film alone.

The funniest thing for me is seeing people talk about star wars like some of them are great cinema.

It's always been average space adventures for teenagers. Just some teenagers gold older (note - they clearly didn't grow up) and seem to think it's fucking citizen kane.

Star Wars was always mediocre.

I honestly agree with you, it is the best made Star Wars film. Sure it has some script issues (but they all do) and purple hair lady is annoying but no other Star Wars film has had the same impact on me.

The first, and only time, that I turned to a complete stranger in the movie theater was The Last Jedi. I said, "oh, come the fuck on." He, despite being only fifteen or so, completely agreed.

When I got back home, I looked at the Rotten Tomatoes score to gauge my reaction. Shocked, I saw nearly every reviewer ejaculating themselves parched because this new direction subverted their expectations. Sitting down to watch the Superbowl only to have your estranged stepfather break into your house and pull your teeth out with pliers is subversive. Film critics getting their teeth forcibly ganked would say, "Hey, I like this," evidently.

Last Jedi ever getting the green light and released, and people saying it's on par or better then A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back is proof modern culture is dead or in a death spiral.

This is fake fan fiction but honestly I'd take it over what we got.

-Starts out with Rey handing Luke the lightsaber. Luke smiles and calls Rey by her name.

-Luke says he has been influencing events around the galaxy from the Jedi Temple as it is a place where he can harness great power

-Luke has a wife and two children on Arch-to.

-Luke says he has been communicating with Leia and they have been planning everything that has been happening (this explains why Leia's attitude towards Rey in TFA)

-Luke was remotely assisting Rey to fly the Falcon and defeat Kylo Ren in TFA

Trivia: The Last Plinkett Review thread on ERA was what made me ditch that forum permanently.

You know that guy has another persona where he literally dresses as a Nazi SS death trooper, right?

When they started riding those CG horse aliens I was officially out of this movie and out of this franchise. It started horrendously with that stupid bombing opening and got worse and worse. They let a guy do whatever he wanted and he did whatever he wanted eight films into an established franchise.

For all of you liars who said you hated TFA, remember right before you saw TLJ. You just got a new Star Wars movie. You were excited to see where the story went. You heard Luke Skywalker was coming back. Tell me you weren't bought in?

Then what we got, was a complete 180.

CG horse alien = stupid
CG giant lizard = OK

???

Watched it in cinema on day one. My friend burst out laughing when the X-Wing did a three point turn in space. Rest of the film didnt get any better. I did appreciate the ironing ship though even if it was massively out of place.

Did not know that. The only times I watched this guy was his Rise of Skywalker leak videos last year and then this one.

I watch Nerdrotic and Geeks and Gamers regularly though. Hopefully Gary isn't some secret Neo Nazi. He actually follows me on IG.

The Last Jedi was a mess.

The Last Jedi isn't that terrible. It has less plot holes than LotR and is just as cringe with the dialog as the original Star Wars trilogy so miss me with them shit arguments. Plus I haven't seen the movie in like a year so maybe it's worse than my current opinion.

Jeez I want to say I like this movie but I'm having a hard time thinking of things I love about it. I hate the portrayal of Luke. Nothing is done with Poe or Finn, and Rose is sort of a nothing. Killing off Snoke randomly in attempt to jumpstart a less formulaic plot doesn't really work at all. The casino sequence is fairly awful.

Visually it's great. The Holdo maneuver. Rey vs. Kylo. Yoda is awesome as always.

I guess there just isn't much for me to hearken back to.

Still better than TROS, of course.

It's not a bad movie.

But it's not the best Star Wars or the worst Star Wars movie ever. The hyperbole around this movie has been unbearable (although I do sympathize with those who dislike it more than those who worship it).

It has good cinematography but it's kinda average plot wise? I'm not a fan of the direction they took Luke in but subsequent viewings have softened my overall hate for it.

I remember me and my pops being excited going to the movies and watch the Last Jedi.... Only to come out very disappointed. We didn't bother watching Episode 9 in Cinemas and waited to rent it on Redbox.

A movie so good a fourty year strong fan base threw its hands up and walked away.

Disney are lucky that Mando landed as well as it did, otherwise they’d have successfully killed one of the greatest story telling achievements of the twentieth century with... whatever the fuck this was supposed to be.
