We only had sex for a couple of minutes and I certainly didn’t orgasm.

True dystopian shit; everyone involved could have gone "Well these smart motherfuckers swindled us out of $750K, and the updates to machines will cost about $5mil, but it was our machines that fucked up. Let's eat the cost and move on. We should count our blessings that this was small scale". The gambling addicts make $750K, the US gov takes half of that in taxes, the machine company eats some crow, and the casinos take extremely negligible losses.

Instead you get years long court cases, the feds spend millions while playing with their dicks pursuing a victimless crime, and one of the guys nearly gets killed in a raid, has his winnings seized, and is still being harassed for "owed taxes". Nearly the worst possible outcome.

Thank you for posting that; truly a fascinating story.

It was really interesting.

Yes, what they did was kind of dodgy but it's not their fault the machines had a bug. The casinos wouldn't have cared or given money back to the punters if the bug favoured them.

100% agree.

Some kid in my high school figured out a bug with the vending machines; apparently the price of the items was input from the actual buttons on the machine. There was a combination you could input that would get you past the user interface, and would let you set the price yourself. That got abused right away and then fixed with a quickness; that is basically the same exact exploit used in the story of the casinos. The idea that someone thought it would be a good idea to prosecute (federally!) is absolute lunacy.

Under a 2019 contract between the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation (WVDCR) and Global Tel Link (GTL), the company that is providing electronic multimedia tablets to 10 West Virginia prisons, inmates will be charged 3 cents a minute to read books, even though the books all come from Project Gutenberg, a free online library of more than 60,000 texts in the public domain.

“We have known this for decades. The emphasis on keeping the back straight is a bit of a dogma that’s lasted through the ages. It’s like the idea you should sit bolt upright at a computer – that’s not true either,” says David Hall, a work safety expert and spokesman for the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

It's a simplification but can convey the right idea to people to avoid injury. You should lift heavy weights with an arched back and tight core, using hip drive.

As someone who fucked my back up for life from lifting incorrectly, I’d say you can safely ignore these people’s opinions.

Peerman asked if the girl would also have to be searched, which led to mixed reactions.
According to the report, the guards initially said that the girl would not need to be fully searched, but a captain then gave an overriding order for her to be included in the check. Peerman and the girl were then informed that if they did not participate in the strip-search, they would be banned from the state prison for any further visits.

I've always found in intruguing how the fuck didn't we explore all of the Egyptian tombs already. People are exploring and mapping incredibly complex underwater cave systems in remote parts of the world, but they haven't discovered everything in Egypt? It's almost like some people don't want the exploration to go faster and some things to be explored just yet. ;)

At least they don’t have to worry about people noticing shrinkage in that chilly weather.
