People die. Water is wet.

I'm usually not the type that gets worked up on celebrity deaths, but wow when it came to celebrity deaths, 2016 cut hard and deep. The deaths this year cut across a very wide group of people more-so than previous years. There were several deaths that hit me pretty hard (Prince, Prince Be of PM Dawn, Phife Dawg, and Gene Wilder).

Let's tip a 40 for the movers, shakers, and innovators we lost this year.

What celebrity deaths hit you the hardest this year?

EDIT: What!?! Craig Sager died yesterday??? I just realized when I copied pasted this list. This has been a cruel year. Bad timeline confirmed.

For those of us in the UK, we also lost the great Ronnie Corbett, Frank Kelly (Father Jack on Father Ted), Victoria Wood, Paul Daniels, Andrew Sachs (Manuel from Fawlty Towers) and Terry Wogan this year. Amongst others.

RIP. So many faces from my youth gone now.

You know 2016 went hard when it was even able to take out Fidel Castro who seemed immortally on his death bed.

As far as celebrity deaths go, 2016 didn't really effect me at all. I think the last celebrity that died that I felt down about was Robin Williams.

26 january: Colin Vearncombe, known by his stage name Black.
Most notably with the international hit single "Wonderful Life" in 1987.

23 october: Pete Burns, singer for Dead or Alive known for their 1985 single "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)".

Going forward, every year will seem bad for celebrity deaths as the number of people considered famous grows each year. In 50 years it'll make news when a famous Instagram model dies and people will say fuck 2066.

Bud Spencer (27 June), age 86
Comedy and spaghetti western actor, Olympic swimmer

Seriously. How can you make a list and omit him? The guy was revered in many parts of the world. Great guy and hero of my childhood. Thankfully we still have Terence Hill.

Anton Yelchin probably disturbs me the most.. so young and such a senseless way to go :/

life is super fragile, we're just bags of meat that can fail to function at almost any moment.. one wrong move or stroke of bad luck and you're done.

so let's try and enjoy every breath, every step, every taste of good food, all the moments that are not pain. all we can do really.

i'mma go brew some good flavored green tea and add some honey, and enjoy the hell out of it.

Still not ok with Bowie dying. Hit me as hard as Ryan Davis untimely death did as far as celeb deaths go.

And Prince too man. Feel like a lot of magic left the earth suddenly.

I was morbidly curious to see if celebrities beat average lifespans and my super dirty math (that I'm 50% sure I got right using the Windows built in calculator) shows an average lifespan of 77.96 years.

I guess that's kinda in line with everyone else.
