"Valve has a lot of games in development" via Famitsu interview

Famitsu has published an interview with Valve Product Designer Greg Coomer about how Valve is in the middle of developing many games. He said a high percentage of the company is working on games now. He said they are not done with the Half Life universe and would like to continue games in the Portal universe as well. Now whether half of these games even come out that's anybody's guess.

Pretty sure the Portal games take place in the Half Life Universe.
Edit. Never mind I see it reads they are NOT done with the Half Life Universe.

Both of their top most played games are ten years old. TF2 15 years old, but I think that is mostly played by bots who automatically farm and trade hats, or whatever happens in that game.

With the flat office structure, I am sure they have tons of games in development. Just none of them will ever see the light of day or go past an initial pitch meeting with higher ups.
Apparently for them, now, if a game is in development then it means they actually organize in a way to get things done and don't just play some dystopian office politics metagame.

lol coomer, that can't be his real name?
It is, and he predates the meme by a lot. Here is a locker with his name on it in Half Life 1:

What's so hard to believe?

Or is it because it sounds like cum? Grow up lol.
"Grow up"? You need to catch up on all the "latest" memes, old man. Just teasing. I think the "coomer" character is funny

I always assume that Valve has games in the works. It's just that they kill them at the drop of a hat if they don't like what they see and we never hear about it.

Forgive me if I don't follow shit that 12 year old kids find funny.

Same. VR interested them enough to release Alyx. I think they need to find a really good reason to release a game. Maybe we'll get a game from them on Deck but then it's not really doing anything special. Any game they release would need to work on any old gaming PC.

Cool, I’d love a Portal 3. I’m just worried some of these project are VR games, that’d be a bummer.
A VR Portal game would be fucking cool. I'd seriously be tempted to go buy an Index just to play any Portal 3 game.

I'd really like to be a fly on the wall at Valve. So many talented game devs burning through cash through what I assume are generous salaries. What are they doing in there?

Yeah I’m sure I’d be amazing for the people who are into VR. I’m not though and It kinda sucks when they make follow ups to their games locked to a peripheral.
Of course. I would rather not have to buy a VR headset for one game. I had a headset but got bored of it after a month. The idea is cool but needs a lot of work still even today.

They should just release a game for everyone.

I've come to terms with myself that Half-Life 3 is never coming out. And I'm okay with that.

The ending to Half Life Alyx literally sends the message that more games are coming, or at least one more. If they left us on that cliffhanger ONCE AGAIN it'd be the end of all good will towards Valve from gamers. Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice, shame to your whole fucking lineage.

Just imagine how could Half-life 3 look with today's technology... They could even choose to focus on PC and make it a true mouse and keyboard game again (without ADS etc), but I doubt they would come out without good gamepad support this time.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
I mean, after that ending for HL: Alyx they better have some games on development.
