I don't know why I have to keep remind folks, the post quote where this started is someone who demanded Spencer to say, by name, that CoD will remain on PS platforms forever, in a topic where the same thing is said in the OP anyway.
Nothing in any of the bungie articles shared above says anything similar about platforms by name.
It is no different than Bethesda games being cited as "first and best on xbox" which was later recanted to "case by case basis".

Anyway, this is a moot discussion. The poster who originally made the demands was asked to post the article where Bungie said what they claimed has stopped posting, I'm not going to further bother with this as clearly there's no evidence of it.
The fact that we know now, and not from post quotes from months ago, is that Phil has sent a signed document to sony that he will keep CoD on PS platforms for years.

Its not a "gotcha" moment, its just stating the fact that you already had the same discussion where someone showing you the same interview was enought to convince you. You have never talked about it again until, surprise, when the UK Government had its doubts on this deal. This looks like some fake "outrage" coming from you.

Phil's words are ironclad when it comes to this. He has no choice. Where I find Phil's words to fall short is when he says one thing and actions go a different direction. I was one of the people that got laugh emoji'ed by a certain group when I thought CoD would stay on Playstation indefinitely based on how much money it would generate for MS. We are starting to see that it will only be on there as long as it is contractually obligated. I am tired of falling for the "awe-shucks, I want games on all platforms" Phil talk. I'm good if he wants to keep games Xbox exclusive. Just stop pretending to be an advocate for open platform gaming so I can stop falling for it.

To be fair, game developers say a lot of stuff that turns out to be bullshit. This game will never have microtransactions, no buying power in the store shop, all future Halo games will have split-screen co-op, Mass Effect ending won't be a A, B, or C choice. The list goes on.
If the next big Bungie game in a few years launches and is PS5/PC exclusive, what would the impact realistically be? Some angry youtube and twitter comments? Oh the horror.

Part of the deal was that Bungie are still functionally independent when it comes to development and publishing, meaning its their choice whether they put their games on Xbox or not. With that in mind, I don't see a world where they choose not to.

There ultimate goal would be to get gamepass on PlayStation.
I think Microsoft envision a hardware agnostic future, they would let ps extra/ps app on cloud + Xbox.
Yes some people will choose a PlayStation service over xbox's, but there thinking is if they can grow the installbase into a few billion there enough install base for both Xbox + PlayStation to grow substantially.

I think the console market will be less important as time goes on. Playing on the big TV at home at a high quality will always be a big part of the Industry and this area will grow, but I think it will head to how Netflix works, device agnostic. When the billions of smartphone players realise they can play console quality games it will draw a lot of them into TV gaming aswell.
The 100 odd million installbase of console as it is now is small sector compared to to the smartphone gaming installbase.
I think it's in Sony's best interests aswell.
If consoles were not a thing and we had steambox like devices, they would sell so many, because it's basically a PC, what's the install base on that? It would be a billion, + smartphones and that's 2 billion?
Having a PC playsation app(which there storefront, portal to play there games) on 500 million devices is better then having 100 million PlayStation consoles.
And Mark Cerny would not necessary be out of a job, Sony Could still make a "PlayStation" but it would just be a subsidiesed PC that's runs windows or whatever OS it turns out to be.
This shift would be hard and there would be going pains but ultimately I think it would be better for the customers and the companies.
Who wants to have to buy multiple computers just to play certain games?

All Phil is doing is saying what the regulators want to hear until the deal is finalized and then we will see his true intentions. People are all eyes of CoD when Activation Blizzard has many other IPs(single player games) that would be just as damaging to the industry if MS makes them Xbox only when they were previously multiplatform.

I don't see it. If Game Pass becomes so successful that Sony will allow it on a Playstation console I believe it would mean MS has moved away from traditional consoles due to that success.

They're already kinda laying the path for that. A sizable portion of their gaming initiative is on game pass right. In another generation or two it'll be the vast majority. The only way I don't see it happening is if game pass crashes and burns in the next couple of years, which I don't see happening personally.

I actually don't think that makes sense unless it is the exact same program. I don't see Sony allowing MS to let gamers to rent 3rd party titles on Game pass over renting or selling them in their own store. If MS only rented their 1st party titles there really would be no reason for an Xbox console at all and I'd hate to see a console future with only Sony consoles. It would also eliminate the purchase option of Game pass.

Don't forget that COD and other Activision Blizzard games on Playstation makes Microsoft a crap ton of money also, way more than it would ever make Sony. Then again, I probably shouldn't limit my thoughts to just the basic performance of the Playstation business, but the larger stock performance also. Honestly, Microsoft has all types of options on how to handle the acquisition. One major change that should be made right away regardless of whether it is kept on Playstation, and I'm of an opinion it should be right now, is Microsoft needs to kill that crossplay tax Sony makes companies pay to enable crossplay between Playstation and Xbox. That's a big ass hell to the no.
And if Sony won't budget on that, then all the smiles and mr. nice guy stuff should go right out the window. Sony needs to be forced to change some of their business practices or face consequences for it. Same on Microsoft's end. If they have any dirty moves we don't know about, those need to be exposed and immediately corrected also.
