Didn't Nvidia (or 3Dfx) hire some topless pornstars one year? I seem to vaguely recall.

Maybe wasn't E3. I remember it made a few headlines though.

Although it was an interesting thing to look forward to, I can’t imagine the cringe these poor women experienced, with a whiff of expired deli meat and unwashed ass crack neck beard « gamers » who tried to hit on them. It must have been nightmare fuel for them.
They didn't experience cringe. They got easy modeling jobs they applied for. And when they got banned they were unemployed.

Good days. I wouldn't even be mad if they brought them back and included booth beefcakes, for equality and shit.

London motorshow too.... and F1 had grid-girls.

All jobs eliminated by current dogma. Shame, many of those girls used that money to pay for college and to make their lives better... I know cause I asked, while I was checking out the cars.

Yup. Definitely the cars...

Some of them made legitimate careers out of it.

But society said it's not allowed anymore. Feminists making their fellow females unemployed, ironic.

E3 definitely hasn't been the same. It's less and less fun as an event as the years have gone by, and of course as they started to let more and more random people in.

I got to go to E3 once, I think the year was 2009 (or maybe 2010?) it was when Project Nathan was announced. There were still booth babes and Ubi was giving away thongs to promote rabid rabbits I think. I found it very uncomfortable, to be honest. I don't feel intimidated by girls and I used to go to strip clubs back then but still... They were pretty to look at but some of them were obviously uncomfortable.

I only got a picture with one that was dressed as Bayonetta with an amazing cosplay. Having girls in booty shorts just... I don't see the point. Even now, with so much sexual content available, I don't see why that would enhance the event at all.

I don't care about politics and I don't think it's exploitation. Much less in the US were those girls were billing by the hour and some of them were flew from Japan or other countries. It's just that I don't see the point.

It was pretty cringe but it wasn’t because of the girls but some in the guys acting like idiots around the girls.

Also at the end the people online acting like guys forced these girls to be there.

basically people as a whole that were not the girls were the cringe.

Yeah hot girls are never cringe.

It's the things surrounding them, how out of place it all was. Gaming cons are a bit better these days as far as the audience goes, but back in the day it really was stinky nerds. I remember my first couple of PAX shows. Good lord, people REALLY don't wipe their asses.

These days the crowd is a much better mix of folks; would be great to bring back "sex sells" and have it be a mix of not just hot women.. but all kinds of people that folks find hot.

And ban dudes who show up with cameras being creepy AF.

those girls would rather be there than working at McDonalds, Wal Mart, 711, office jobs, grocery, store clerks, stripping, etc,.... basically they would rather be doing event modeling than most of other jobs out there
