In the case of Oli, they are essentially just impersonating a celebrity, tying their fate to someone famous. Past that, it's not clear what Oli will do to contribute.
If oli makes a solid effort to contribute to Korean culture, great. I'm not getting a sense that Oli is in it for the hard work to contribute past social commentary.

It's all based stereotypes (justified or not). Certain traits, looks, behaviors, etc. being commonly associated with one sex vs. the other and deciding that because you like those traits and identify with them that you are a different sex than what you actually are.
It just comes down to strongly identifying with something and desperately wanting to become it.

This leads to a really deep rabbit hole, I guess.
My initial response was that the only way to act "of a certain race" is to exhibit or emulate the stereotypes of that race (which typically is considered prejudice).
But then that made me realize that what is considered feminine / masculine could in itself be viewed as a stereotype of that gender.
