For anyone who is into such things, I found out, that the co op on the Switch version can be played locally with both players playing on their own Switches.

I’m not so sure about the way the local co op is handled on the Switch version anymore (online or lan), but I found an interesting point regarding Switch players according to iMore preview:

”In addition, if you purchase the Deluxe edition of the game, you will receive a code to give to a friend that will allow them to also download and play Wolfenstein: Youngblood with you. They won't be able to play the game solo or with anyone else if they obtain the game that way, though they can still purchase the game on their own if they want to. But your friend will be able to play through the entire game co-op with you.”

Erm, no. We didn't. We talked about playing it but it never happened. Kind of glad actually because Co-op was locked at 30 FPS on release. It's better now the framerate is higher.

This shoed in “leveling” system shit is unnecessary and it’s slowly starting to chip away at what once were simply great, story driven shooters with no gimmicky, bandwagon Looty RPG Lite crap. It was stupid as hell in Far Cry New Dawn and it sounds ridiculous in this. Just leave that shit to Borderlands or make a new fuckin IP.

It’s completely unnecessary and forces you to play conservatively rather than aggressively like past Wolfenstein games. I found myself hiding more frequently and peek shooting because enemies have a shit ton of health and added armor as well. They force you to use certain guns because there are 2 different armor types, so shotgun will shoot one type and SMG shoots another. If you use the wrong bullet type on the armor it just does chip damage. It’s annoying to be forced to use certain weapons constantly. It messes with my playstyle as well, as like I said, I like playing aggressively but can’t do it anymore.

The two above quotes is exactly how I feel. Will play on easy and try to power my way through this game and hope that Wolfenstein III eliminates the co-op and all the RPG elements. Wolfenstein (and Far Cry) are NOT meant to be RPG's. UGH.

That's the only interesting thing about this game, it being coop.

If you're playing with a human partner, probably but if you're playing solo like me, it sucks because it wastes a life that I have and I don't want to be forced to revive my partner. Fucking stupid. Only positive for me is that the game will end up being a $14 rental once I trade it in next week which is fine.

You are so much either in denial or you internalised it very deeply and it's so natural that you are all those horrible things and you must repent - preferably by joining your local ally-ship program with Antifa, it will allow you to both feel better about yourself as a defender of oppressed groups (not people mind you, oppressed people are disgusting) and release all the anger you have inside - it's your anger against the patriarchy obviously.

I’m having a blast. I played for an hour and had a great time. Health bars, leveling up and awesome gunplay. I don’t understand reviews anymore. Sure they typically score the “good” games we all know and love, but there’s a huge disconnect in giving your somewhat-average video game a score.

Journalist wanted to see this and that and whatever was in the previous games wasn’t in this one. The pro’s to this game are what makes it worth playing. I think some journalists aren't cut out to recommend something that wasn’t trying to be the next Doom 2016.

Im having a blast shooting down enemies. The gunplay is perfect. The level design has been nice. I like the cutscenes because I’m not looking for something too deep. Use a shotgun, throw a grenade, level up your character, and fight nazis that are a higher level than you. After an hour I’m ready to go back and play some more. I’m playing it solo. I’m use to escort missions where I’m maneuvering around the NPC like they’re a chair I’m carrying along with me. It works for me at least and I’d definitely not score it a 6.

I don't understand the SJW accusation I get it in New Colossus because it was in your face but having played youngblood, these two girls remind me of a girl I knew who was a bit of a tomboy and loved guns and hunting.

One of the girls is hunting with her dad and the best description is that they are a couple of dorks more than anything I also find it funny that they have Texas accents.

I also tought the gunplay was fun and tight and had a lot of fun with it and for 30 usd I have no complaints to be honest.

The game is pretty horrible, I'm on level 15 and already sick of it. There are three main districts of Paris and you're forced to go back to them over and over again for different main and side missions. And guess what, enemies always respawn, always the same ones and always in the same places.

The co-op requirement is also annoying if you want to play solo and not how the devs intended. AI didn't save me on multiple occasions and you can forget about issuing orders or stuff like that.

I'm not even going to start on the sisters and how cringeworthy are their cut-scenes and banter, I'm close to going through with skipping cut-scenes in future missions.

I mean, ”not sounding too bad” is not good enough for me normally, but there just are not too many co-op games around, so this has to suffice! And I am really hungry for a co op shooter! The friend pass is perfect!

And fortunately, the things that pop up from the reviews, that would rub me in the wrong way while playing alone, are typically not that harmful when playing with a friend.

We're literally walking 5 feet and we end up with enemies being respawned by magic behind us in a lot of areas and its worse by how there are a ton of quests that backtrack you over and over through linear levels and loadings. It makes no sense. Its just stupid made. I get now the low ratings and too bad because my friend and I are enjoy the combat.

I'm not finding the solo gameplay to be enjoyable at all. The partner AI is just awful. They should have given her infinite respawn, or leave her out of the game until you clear the enemies or something, but no, you really must babysit her all the time or face a game over screen because your partner did something stupid off-screen. It seems like Wolfenstein: NO was a fluke. Watching this review, it's crazy to think the franchise ended up here just 5 years after W: NO released. Both NC and Youngblood have removed almost everything that made W: NO good (gunplay, level design, BJ) and added in experience grinding and mtx hooks.
